Worth every penny

We had George as our guide and he was so enthusiastic the entire time whilst sharing so much information that really made the trip memorable. We were able to be just metres away from animals I’ve only dreamed of seeing and those memories will truly last a lifetime! We were also met by many meek trails safari members along the way to ensure our journey was going well - which it always was!! I highly recommend for everyone interested.

So close to animals and great guide!

So close to animals! So many lions, elephants, fish eagles and many more! Our guide called George was amazing! He made extra effort to take us to see all the animals - even driving out of one gate of Massai Mara and through another to see a cheetah! He was also great at being entertaining with facts and stories - especially on the longer drives. Luxurious places to stay - would 100% do again.

We have just had the most amazing week in Kenya, visiting animals in Masia Mara, Nukuru, Naivasha and Amboselli. George, our companion, guide and driver, was incredible - so knowledgeable and helpful at every stage, not just about the animals but all sorts of other Kenyan information too. We enjoyed his expertise and entertaining stories! He was also an expert at driving, especially when it came to getting a good view of the animals in the parks. We can’t relieve how many we managed to get close-up to! We stayed at four different hotel/lodges, each with their own great character and assets. Staff were always attentive and looked after us so well. The team back at HQ, who organised our tour and kept in touch both before and during the safari, were also so helpful - thanks Amicah and Michael! This was our first safari experience and we would love to express our sincere gratitude to Meektrails Safaris in planning our 8 days 7 nights Safari Journey. Lucas also takes good care of us and did his best to meet our needs especially in taking good pictures of the Big 5. Incredible safari experience with Meektrails

I recently completed a 4-day solo safari trip with Meektrails, exploring Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli National Park. My initial contact with Peris (tour consultant) made me choose Meektrails over other companies I inquired with. Throughout the months leading up to my trip Peris was always approachable, responsive and offered advice/tips but leaving any decisions to me. She was also very open to changes to my itinerary when I decided to add on extra activities. Sometimes booking these trips you feel like you’re being upsold a product but it never once felt like that during my time communicating with Peris. My safari guide was the amazing George. We hit it off from the moment I stepped into the van and I knew I was in great hands. Especially being a solo woman traveller we have to be cautious but throughout my entire trip I never once felt uncomfortable with George. He was very professional, went above and beyond ensuring that I got the best experience in sighting the animals, was very flexible to the itinerary and looked out for me. Although the drives were long days, we shared many convos and laughter so the time felt like it passed quickly. At the end of my trip we had hours of delay getting back into Nairobi due to the nationwide protest but George ensured that we stayed parked in a safe area until it was all clear to head back to the city. Life changing, personalized safari that felt like the real Kenya

I can’t rate this experience with MeekTrails highly enough. I am very picky about tours because I like to design my own travel and don’t like being on someone else’s schedule. I had been to Kenya before, but never on safari, and I was concerned it would be a line of jeeps surrounding one exhausted animal. I was skeptical of the tour of the Maasai village, feeling like it could be kitschy or exploitative, and I was concerned about price. I’ve traveled to 32 countries and Meektrails is the best value for money experience I’ve ever had. Joseph, our guide, was brilliant, kind, thoughtful, patient and felt more like a friend than a guide by the end of our tour. One of the highlight memories was having nyama choma and ugali, the national dishes of Kenya, at a casual roadside stop, washed down with Tusker beer, while chatting about politics, animals, and all things Kenyan. We could not believe how many animals we saw in a single day, every animal I could have dreamed of, and we never felt rushed or exhausted. We had a picnic out in the middle of the Maasai Mara that felt like a dream - the food was delicious, we sat under an old tree identical to those we’d seen lions sit under, and the breeze rustled past us as we took in the incredible landscape. We got to move and rest at our own pace the entire time. Throughout the experience, the staff, especially Michael, Diana, Tom, were consummate professionals and unfailingly cheerful and accommodating. The best moment of the trip was when 40 staff at the beautiful campsite we stayed in celebrated my birthday, taking such care in so many small ways and truly making me feel like I was at a party with family despite being out on the road. 11/10. Book - you won’t regret it. This was one of the most magical (and wildly inexpensive!!) experiences of my life.

MEEKSAFARI - WHAT A GOOD CHOICE

This is our first time to Kenya. We were so lucky to have chosen Meektrails SafariS for it made our 10-day trip a rousing success, smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. No complaints on the food, rooms, choice of lodges/ camps... except all round praise. We brought back good memories and image of Kenya. The detailed arrangements on sequence of travel inside Kenya, the fantastic choice of hotel & accommodation and all. The price of the package was reasonable. We were assigned a new comfortable Toyota 4x4, courteous and a superd driver-cum tour-guide Mr. James Mungai. Memorable Nairobi Safari Adventure

It was an amazing 11 days safaris adventures with James Mungai as our driver guide. He was knowledgeable, very professional, patient and accommodating. With him we felt safe throughout our journey. Truly Outstanding Safari with Meektrails

This was our first trip to Kenya, and after considering many options, we’re so glad we chose Meektrails. From the outset, they stood out for their attention to detail, fast communication, and tailored approach. Our coordinator Charles was brilliant—always helpful, proactive, and in regular contact before and during the trip to ensure everything went perfectly. We did a 13-night safari and beach combo: 7 nights on safari (Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli), followed by 5 nights in Diani and a final night in Nairobi. Every detail, including all transfers, was handled seamlessly. Our safari guide Peter was the heart of the trip. Incredibly knowledgeable and warm, he brought the journey to life—not just through amazing wildlife sightings but by sharing insights into Kenya’s culture and history. He seemed to have a sixth sense for animal behaviour and always positioned us perfectly for the best views. Thanks to him, we had unforgettable encounters with the Big Five (including a leopard), the “Ugly Five,” and much more. It felt like we were on safari with a friend rather than just a guide. On our last day, Charles arranged a last-minute game drive in Nairobi National Park with another fantastic guide, Habil, where we were lucky enough to spot a black rhino—the perfect way to end the trip. The Great Experience of Kenyan Wildlife

We had the most incredible safari experience in Kenya, and a huge part of that was thanks to Meektrails. From the time we first spoke to them, their team was very responsive and helpful in curating an itinerary to our liking! Unforgettable Kenya Safari with Meektrails & Jackson

Just came back from the most unforgettable safari in Kenya with Meektrails and our amazing driver guide Jackson — truly a trip of a lifetime! Before the trip, Charles from Meektrails was nothing short of amazing. Super responsive (even picking up our call at 1am when our airport pickup failed!), always patient, and very detail-oriented. When our travel dates had to shift from October to June on short notice, Charles reworked the entire itinerary smoothly, suggesting great hotels based on what we needed—even Wi-Fi quality! When a hotel ran out of rooms due to our delay, he came back with a better option at the same price. He also included thoughtful touches like the Giraffe Centre and Carnivore Restaurant. Everything was covered in a single package (except tips), making the whole experience stress-free. During the trip, we were in the excellent hands of Jackson, our driver guide. Always punctual, kind and attentive—especially to our elderly mum, helping her in and out of the jeep every day. He was constantly tuned in to the guide radio and chatted with other drivers to track animal sightings. We loved that he took quieter routes, letting us enjoy intimate moments with the animals without the crowd. Thanks to him, we saw 4 different lion prides, a cheetah enjoying a fresh topi kill, rare black rhinos, and completed both the Big 5 and Ugly 5! One of the highlights? He messaged us to leave early for afternoon game drive due to possible rain—by the time we exited the hotel gate, a leopard was spotted and he rushed us there just in time! Jackson also had a great eye for photo angles, and kept checking on us (even though he had the tougher job driving long hours). His passion for wildlife and pride in Kenya really shone through. From start to finish, Meektrails delivered a well-organised, heartwarming and adventure-filled trip. Highly recommend Charles and Jackson—you will be in the best hands! 🇰🇪🧡

Brilliant company from start to finish. Booked a 5 day tour to Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara. I booked directly with the company. Diana, our tour designer, was great. Helped us create the tour/safari. Was very responsive in the changes we wanted and also at hand during the tour which was really helpful. Anthony, our guide/driver (and Safari Whisperer!!!), was brilliant. He understood that all we wanted to see were the animals and we had some unforgettable moments. Cheetah’s hunting its prey, Mufasa and Simba eating and even a young Simba just chilling on our 4x4! Highly recommend!

Just got back from a 6-day safari in Kenya with Meektrails and it was honestly one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. We saw so many animals – lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos… the list goes on. Every day felt like a new adventure. Our guide, Sammy, was incredible. Super friendly, really knowledgeable, and just made the whole experience so much fun. He always knew where to go and somehow managed to spot animals that we would’ve completely missed! Trip of a lifetime!

I cannot recommend Meektrails highly enough as a tour operator. From the booking process, the actual trip and the follow up, they have been nothing short of excellent. Our guide Sammie was so knowledgeable and experienced that we were in safe hands from the beginning. He went above and beyond to make our Kenya safari memorable. Spectacular Safari

Our 7-day safari with Meektrails Safaris and guide Phillip was spectacular! My daughter and I saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, lion cubs, hyenas, buffalos, hippos, rhinoceros, wildebeests, impalas, a cheetah, a leopard, and so much more. The accommodations at the Sopa Lodges were very nice and several of the properties had animals such as hippos and giraffes on the property. Even though we splurged and chose the Land cruiser option, which I highly recommend, I thought the cost was very fair. The tour and our guide Philip honestly exceeded all my expectations and I would heartily recommend them.

A vacation to remember - Kenya Safari!

My Kenya trip in January was amazing and I got Perfect weather, Perfect itinerary and Perfect tour operator – Meektrails! We are a group of 5 and we booked a private safari tour to Kenya for 8 days. One travel solo from Ireland and four of us (2 couples) travel from Hong Kong to Kenya. I have been incredibly fortunate to find Meektrails and Charles, the travel agent, is helpful and patient. I started planning my trip in mid-August 2024 and asked many questions and many more for a total of 5 months. Charles is wonderful, he is efficient and service oriented, he able to response to my queries by email and whatsup diligently. Charles understands what I am looking for. Importantly, Charles makes sure I am comfortable to wire the deposit to secure the tour package. It is a big job to do payment for all 5 of us by bank transfer from Hong Kong and we did pay for the entire tour cost a week before we departure to Kenya. Charles acknowledges receipt of our payment promptly and the whole process is handled professionally, and I am very happy with his assistance. Besides Charles, we also have a fantastic tour guide: Bernard Muiru, he is an experienced professional safari guide, and he knows where to go and to ensure we able to view all these beautiful animals. Bernard especially acknowledgeable to birds, and we learnt so much from him. I can assure you that a good guide is very essential! We’re lucky to have Bernard and within the first 2 days of our Kenya visit, we had already seen the Big Five. Big thanks to Bernard’s effort and hard work! We visited the following parks: Tsavo West National Park, Amboseli National, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Naivasha and the popular Masai Mara National reserve. Well, for me the true remarkable time was when we see the African wild dogs! The wild dog has been listed as endangered on the IUCN Red list since 1990, and they may consist of fewer than 250 dogs on planet earth, but we saw more than 10 of them happily resting under the brushes. The Game-drives are a comfortable safari activity. We explore parks and game reserves by riding a 4x4 Landcruiser vehicle with a pop-up roof. Our tour guide/driver will come with us to drive for several hours in search of wildlife. We were able to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras or any wildlife, you will stop to see them and/or take photos from inside your vehicle or through the pop-up roof. We also got to sit under a tree to have a picnic in the middle of the park and for me, being a city girl, the feeling of being able to be with true nature is hard to describe. The Kenya safari vacation is a great lifetime experience. This trip gave me a wide spectrum of how free wildlife can be lived. I highly recommend traveler to go to Kenya and see for yourself, the gorgeous sunlight shinning on the tall grass in safari. At home in Hong Kong, seeing all the beautiful pictures I took, the great memories I have of this Kenya trip is making me smile.

A Majestic Safari!!

Planning a two-week safari is a aunting task especially when you want to experience and “see” as much as you can. We needed someone who have the resources and the patience to manage our needs. Meektrails stood out right away as they took their time to understand our needs, at the same time advising and making alternative suggestions, in order to make the itinerary more feasible during the time we had. Whilst other companies provided us with various options, most of their proposals seemed “canned” and were not as flexible in changing the itinerary nor the available accommodations. We wanted a range of activities and a varied choice on accommodations. On both ends, Meektrails DELLIVERED!! They provided us with a wide range of choices in accommodations, from luxurious lodges and tented camps to authentic camps in the reserves. It was a surreal experience having the thrill of camping in the open park at the same time being pampered in luxurious settings. We went on some of the best parks that Kenya and Tanzania had to over – Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. The vehicle used was always clean and great condition. The guides were professional and very knowledgeable not only about the wildlife but also about the culture and history. Aside from the majestic game drives, we were able to go on a boat safari, a walking safari, and a bike safari – all wonderful additions to the adventure! We also had a magical experience visiting an authentic Masai village and got to meet and learn more about their rich and vibrant culture and community. In Tanzania, we visited a local market in Arusha (we were one of only a handful of tourists). Again, it was such a fulfilling experience to meet and learn about the local culture! Our holiday ended with a relaxing 3 days on the beach in Zanzibar! Meektrails worked well with their counterparts in Tanzania and Zanzibar. They were professional, authentic, and genuine - regularly checking in on us to make sure everything was going well. It was comforting to know that we were on their watch during the entire holiday! They showed flexibility and quick action to accommodate us. Two examples come to mind: • Our flight from Zanzibar back to Nairobi was changed by the airline without informing us nor Meektrails (apparently not unusual for this airline). Meektrails went to work immediately (already late evening) and got us on another flight. Since the flight was much earlier than the original, we had 18 hours in Nairobi before our flight back home. For this, they provided us with a room in a fabulous hotel near the airport!! • Our car got stuck on the way to the airport. Within 20 minutes, a replacement car came to pick up and continue the journey. All this at 2:30 in the morning in Zanzibar! We highy recommended Meektrails for your next Safari to Kenya and Tanzania!! They are professional, flexible and accommodating, genuine and authentic!!

Great 10 day safari with Meektrails

We had a fantastic 10 day safari with Meektrails. Amboseli, Ol Pejeta, Samburu, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and finished off in the Masai Mara. The whole process was very organised and slick from start to finish, from the initial contact and booking through the pickup drop off and safari itself. Accommodation was a really high standard and we had a dedicated vehicle and guide just for the two of us. Our guide Joseph was absolutely brilliant, would definitely recommend him. Saw everything we would possibly hope to see, lions, leopards, cheetahs etc. We are both birdwatchers and Joseph was very knowledgeable and happy to tailor the game drives to what we were interested in. It was our first ever safari and we struggled to pick a company, but we are so glad we went with Meektrails, a good competitive price and a great experience.

Fantastic 8 day safari tour with an amazing guide (Peter!)

We had a fantastic experience with Meektrails. Our 7 nights/8 days safari tour was very well organised, and our guide Peter went above and beyond to make sure we saw as many animals as possible and had an exciting adventure in Kenya. We visited Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara and the itinerary was a great mix of game drives and other activities (e.g. cycling, walking, and boat tours). We went for mid-range accommodation, and all lodges were beautiful, clean, and with all amenities for a comfortable stay. From start to finish, Meektrails were incredibly professional, responsive and attentive. Their quote was competitive and they tailored our itinerary to our needs and wishes. William provided all the necessary information and we felt at all times well looked after by him and our guide Peter. Peter's knowledge of the parks and the animals stood out and really made the trip a once in a lifetime experience. We highly recommend Meektrails if you're looking for a professional safari company with a personal touch!

A special mention for our amazing safari guide George - he knew the trails inside the safari park very well, he was very knowledgeable about the animals & their typical behaviours. Cheating during booking finalisation

I shouldn’t even give 1 star for such a terrible experience in booking a safari with them. We asked for 6N/7D in June 2025 . I went for negotiating based on their exorbitant rates . Their staff discussed with their boss and quoted 1250 dollars just 2 days before for group of 3 with mara maisha(3N) , avion court hotel (1N) at naivasha and Kibo safari (2N) at amboselli including giraffe Center at nairobi and geo spa. Considering this as a good deal, we planned to book our flights from Germany . But today they say there is a system error and actual price is 2300 dollars pp for group of 3 . If the guy has just checked in system and gave me the price 2 days before, I would have considered their reason. But after discussing with his boss several times, he quoted the price for 1250 dollars and today he changed to 2300$ . I seriously wonder how his boss is able to give acceptance for 1250 dollars 2 days before and now his staff says that was a system error. What kinda company they are running ? Please don’t believe this safari operator since they are not delivering safari operator. They will say they will deliver best experience in safari . But in the end they cheat is like this . The whole Sunday is being spoiled for us because of these guys .

What an experience!!!

I can’t even begin to explain the amazing experience we had with Meektrails! From booking to the end of the safari, everything was taken care of. They were accommodating, responsive and overall such a kind group of people! We had the best private tour with them and our guide was Gideon. Gideon was so patient, kind and knowledgeable! He made sure we got our photography shots!! There is nothing to worry about during our safari adventure because all things were taken care of. We visited Amboseli, Navaisha, Nakuru and Masai Mara in 6 days. We also enjoyed our hot air balloon ride with Balloon Safari. MUST do. We had an amazing breakfast inside Masai Mara. We’re already thinking about going back and we’ll definitely reach out to Meektrails again! Thank guys for the wonderful memories!!

Best experience of our life

One of the most satisfying Safari experiences for my wife and me both senior citizens. MT staff took so good care of us organised special events for my wife's 60th birthday and our anniversary. We not only saw the big 5 but so many more animals and birds with picturesque views of sunrise and sunset with Mt. Kilimanjaro with snow peak in background Food was very good even for vegetarians with MT staff taking great care of you culinary needs and your food allergies Pauline was the standout person answering to all our stupid questions promptly at all odd hours and charting a memorable trip. Wilson our guide cum driver could practically "smell" animals out and gave us a wonderful gaming experience. Entire crew deserves Kudos

Meektravels and Bernard Njinu are excellent partners for your Kenia Safari experience

We met Bernard Njinu after a short night at our hotel outside Nairobi with his 6 seater jeep in wonderful condition. We started our 1300 km road trip with a long drive south to the Ambosseli National Park on the foot of the majestic Kilimanjaro. Bernard has been doing this job for decades. He is a brilliant driver and knows exactly when to speak. He is super resourceful and educated. In Ambosseli he found us brilliant sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs, endless elephants, wildebeests, zebras and more. From Ambosseli we travelled north west to Lake Navaisha where back in 1985 the then blockbuster movie „Out of Africq“ was filmed. At that time many animals where place on its shores who continue to live there in generations that followed. This allowed us to do a walking tour as well as a boat trip to see hordes of hippos and birdlife. The following morning we did a bike ride into a valley of high served as an inspiration to the Lion King before starting our journey to the Massai Mara Reserve outside the Serengeti. Visiting a Massai village with dance, style of living, fire making and local memorabilia which serves as an income for the village. Thanks to his patience we saw the big cats again in various constellations. We spent 2 nights at the Mara Maisha a beautiful camp which we highly recommend. From there we drove to the Kenia/Tanzania border where Bernard handed us over the his colleague from Serengeti Clarity (see separate report). We recommend Bernard highly, would give him 10 stars if we could!

Great safari, great guide, fantastic value!

My daughter and I just finished an 8 day safari trip with Meektrails to Amboseli Park, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara Park and Lake Nakuru. Esther helped us plan the trip and was very responsive to our questions. Anthony, our driver and guide was great - friendly, professional, so experienced! He knew where to go to spot animals, explained things, and answered questions, stopped for photos. He was an excellent driver and we felt very safe in his hands. The time flew by and was suddenly over!! Our favourite hotel was the Sarova Game Camp in Masai Mara. All the hotels helped us with our gluten free dairy free diet. Absolutely no problem there. Delicious food at all the hotels. I highly recommend Meektrails!

Holiday of a lifetime

Amazing time in Kenya thanks to our fabulous guide Anthony, Eliud's organisation and all the Meektrails team. We visited Amboseli, Lake Naivashe, Lake Nakuru, and Massi Mara, 3 Sopa Lodges and Royal Zebra in Masai and all were great locations, good food and great facilities. Saw different animals/scenery at each place, and the tour was well organised with Tony making each place so interesting with his knowledge and conversation. Even the long journeys were good as he told us about the people, and facts about each area we drove through. Would recommend them completely and hope we will be lucky enough to go back one day. Loved every minute!!

Fantastic Safari experience with Meekstrails and Bernard Nijnu

I have had the good fortune to have travelled to many countries and joined many tours and also enjoyed several safaris. Our tour with Meekstrails safaris was over nine days during which time we must have covered 2,500 KMs , traversing across Kenya and visiting Tsavo West and Amboselli National Parks in the south of the country, up to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Naivasha in the north and finally, three days in the Masai Mara National Reserve. There were five of us in the truck, all seasoned travellers. We saw all of the big 5, on one day viewing 26 lions in 4 separate sightings, including a post kill of a cape buffalo with the male head of the herd guarding the carcass and the cubs and lionesses sleeping under a nearby bush. We also saw a leopard at night, cheetah walking right past our truck, the protected rhino at Ol Pejeta, herds of hippo, and a sea eagle on a boat trip. We also had a cycle and hike at Hell’s Gate and joined in a fertility dance with the males of a tribe in the Masai Mara, where apparently the higher you can jump determines how many wives once is allowed to have – I could not jump very high and will have to stick with the one I have got. Our trip was made the more memorable through the care and attention to detail of our guide and driver, Bernard Njinu. He showed how incredibly knowledgeable he is of the Kenyan wildlife, birds and trees. He also shared with us interesting facets of the local economy, different tribes and the way of life in Kenya. He joined in the banter whilst he was driving, with the rest of us in the back of the truck. His passion for the wildlife in Kenya and for his job shown through. We were all incredibly grateful that we had Bernard as our guide and he made our trip truly memorable. We could not rate Bernard and Meekstrails highly enough, their service levels are world class and both Bernard and the company go out of their way to ensure that their guests have a great time, whilst ensuring a high level of safety. If you are contemplating a safari holiday in Africa, you would be hard pressed to find a better company than Meekstrails Safaris and a better guide than Bernard Nijnu.

Amazing trip!

Superb experience with Meektrails Safaris .

It was an amazing experience made even better with Meektrails . They took care of all accommodations as well as the pick up and drop off to the airport making us feel entirely welcome and safe . Paul was the main person we could contact for all queries and very helpful. Sam our driver was excellent with a wealth of knowledge regarding the animals in the safari and his passion to showing us the animals in the forest was indeed worth mentioning.
