In August 2025, we traveled from California to Nairobi for our long-awaited first African safari—and it was everything we dreamed of and more. Our guide, Onesmas, was incredibly knowledgeable about the parks, wildlife, and trails. I highly recommend Meektrails Safaris after our incredible 10-day safari in Kenya. Gadson made the communication and itinerary planning seamless, answering all questions via email, WhatsApp, and phone calls. The lodging far exceeded expectations for the price, and I'll provide more details. Upon arrival at Nairobi airport, I was met by Gadson, Daniel (Meektrails’ owner), and Ben, our fantastic driver and guide for the entire trip. Ben was an excellent driver and guide, navigating the parks safely and positioning us perfectly for wildlife sightings. Our private safari allowed us flexibility, with a jeep to ourselves, snacks, and an electric cooler. We stayed at the Mtito Hotel tented camp, which was peaceful, scenic, and overlooked a river where we saw giraffes, monkeys, and antelope. We felt very safe with security on-site every night. In Masai Mara, Ben captured amazing lion sightings, including one where we watched a lion feast on a wildebeest. Ben's expert positioning allowed us to see leopards and cheetahs up close. Next, we stayed at Sopa lodges in Nakuru and Naivasha. At the Naivasha resort, hippos swam right past our balcony, and we saw zebras, giraffes, and antelope wandering the property. A giraffe even sat on the path outside the lobby after dinner. In Amboseli, Ben expertly navigated rough, unpaved roads. We had an unforgettable evening game drive with elephants at sunset, and the next day we saw more wildlife, all with Mount Kilimanjaro in the backdrop. We ended in Tsavo West and East. The Ngulia Lodge at Tsavo West was a bit outdated but had incredible views of elephants, buffalo, and antelope. At Manyatta Tented Camp in Tsavo East, we had a private pool overlooking the park, where zebras, elephants, and monkeys were just feet away. Ben took us to a spot where we watched elephants bathing in red mud—an unforgettable experience. Our safari exceeded all expectations, with rare wildlife sightings, including the Big 5, white rhinos, and the elusive black rhinos. Meektrails was accommodating every step of the way, from planning to transport. After the safari, Gadson arranged our travel to Baobab Beach Resort at Diani Beach, with seamless pickups and drop-offs, including a train and flight back to Nairobi. I highly recommend Meektrails for an unforgettable safari experience.

I just came back from a 3-day Masai Mara safari with Meektrails Safaris, and honestly, it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. We booked with Meektrails based on a recommendation from a YouTuber. We were sceptical having had our previous safari cancelled last minute by a different company. However, Meektrails were AMAZING! Considering we booked 5 days before arriving from the UK in Nairobi in the middle of peak season, Valentine did a fantastic job with booking us our 4 night Kenyan safari. She helped to reassure me as I was (understandably) apprehensive as to whether I could trust another company. She booked us 2 of the most beautiful lodges in Tsavo West and Amboseli. We had a couple of incidents with our guide but we were able to contact Valentine and get them resolved. We also appreciate that we booked so last minute, we weren’t going to get the best of the best guide! On our first morning, Valentine, Daniel (the owner) and a couple of other members of the team were there to welcome us. We got complimentary hats (very useful) and water bottles. If you’re nervous about booking with a local company, this is a company you can trust and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again!

It was a wonderful experience! We signed up for an eight-day, seven-night trip. We booked the entire trip's accommodation at Sopo, and there were basically no disappointments. I'd like to highly recommend our guide, Habil. He was very responsible, kind, and even bought us small gifts himself. He was so considerate! On the last day of the trip, the guide even accompanied us to the hotel to check in before leaving. It was so thoughtful.

Habil's ability to spot animals is truly remarkable! Whether it's a lion hiding in the grass or a cheetah lurking in the trees, nothing escapes his eyes. Once, we had been searching for a long time without seeing a giraffe, but he quickly spotted the giraffe in the distance with his rich experience and sharp observation skills, which made us extremely excited! Besides being professional, Habil is also very considerate. He always pays attention to the needs of each of us, helping to take photos and prepare snacks. He can also quickly solve any unexpected problems, allowing us to enjoy the trip without any worries. This trip was so wonderful and unforgettable because of Habil. I will definitely find him again for our next trip!

We have just returned from our honeymoon in Kenya where we chose Meektrails Safari to be our guides. Peris was our coordinator and right from the start she was responsive, communicative and adapted the safari to suit us. She stayed in touch with us from enquiry, right through until after the safari. The owner of the safari company Daniel, Peris and our guide (also called Daniel)all came to meet us on day one of the trip. The roads in Kenya were an experience in themselves to say the least but we felt so safe with Daniel driving us. Daniel was chatty, kind and knowledgable and also taught us some Swahili. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The safari itself was amazing. We were taken to the major national parks across Kenya where were lucky enough to see the big 5 in our first few days. The lodges and hotels that Meektrails had booked for us were stunning to say the least and the food was amazing. All of the accommodations were tentative to be husbands dietary needs as a coeliac. After a week of national parks and conservancies we went to Diani beach to relax. Meektrails not only planned the train and accommodation for us but made sure that there was someone there to collect us to take us to our hotel and even escort us into the departures area on our way back. Our Kenyan safari experience was incredible, all thanks to the team at Meektrails. We could not recommend them enough.

My friends and I had a wonderful 7 days experience in Kenya with Meektrails. In the 7 days, we covered Amboseli Park, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Maasai Mara. Initially, I thought I was lucky to spot the big 5 but on second thought, my luckiest encounter was crossing paths with guide George. Guide George is extremely well-spoken and knowledgeable. He is also quick-witted and has a keen eye. Like a chameleon, Guide George is able to adapt to situations and our needs with ease, which makes us feel safe and heard. From big things such as ensuring: 1. that we are safe during the drives — he is a superb experienced and safe driver 2. our dietary requests were met 3. we are warm 4. hydrated 5. sufficient time to rest and recharge To seemingly small things (but packed full of thoughtfulness) such as: 1. answering ALL our questions — by ALL I really mean it. Everything from animals, agriculture, the country, the culture, and even about the road 2. disposing of our trash for us 3. waking up early to see us off for our hot air balloon experience (when he didn’t have to as we have another guide for that) All in all, Guide George is highly professional, friendly, hardworking and focused. Always present and on top of things. During this 7-day Kenya trip, there was never a moment when I felt unsafe, unheard, or unhappy. From the bottom of my heart, I thoroughly had an enjoyable experience and wouldn’t want it any other way. There was never a dull moment and it was all so magical. We had a large group visiting Kenya for a weeks safari covering Lake Elementaita, Amboseli, Hells Gate and Masai Mara. Our tour guide and driver Julius was exceptional, even finding both a cheetah and a leopard catching their pray on the same day! Everyone was very helpful with my elderly father in law, and when my son lost his teddy bears at one hotel, he managed to get the back to Nairobi to be reunited. Julius was very knowledgeable about everything, and a very good driver. The Land Cruiser that was provided was very clean and comfortable. I cannot imagine a better tour company to go with.

Our Kenya safari with Meektrails Safaris, my wife turned into one of the most disappointing trips we’ve ever taken. From day , nothing went as promised. Kenya’s wildlife is beautiful, but with the Meektrails wrong operator we choose, the magic disappears completely. We were picked up hours late with no apology, crammed into an old, noisy vehicle where the windows barely opened, making it almost impossible to take photos or even breathe comfortably in the heat. The so-called luxury lodge looked nothing like the pictures dirty rooms, broken showers, and food that tasted like it was thrown together without care. Game drives felt rushed and unplanned; the guide seemed bored, barely speaking, and only stopped when other jeeps had already spotted animals. We missed out on key sightings because of poor timing and lack of effort. Instead of the magical safari we’d dreamed of, we got frustration, wasted time, and a feeling that we were just another booking on their list. For the amount of money we paid, this experience felt like a complete rip-off. The itinerary promised full game drives, but in reality, we spent more time waiting at the lodge than exploring. Meals were repetitive and poorly prepared, and some lodge facilities didn’t match the descriptions given. The guide seemed disinterested, offering little information about the wildlife or the park, and often stopping only when other vehicles had already spotted something. We still saw a few animals, but the overall experience lacked the excitement, care, and professionalism we were hoping for. For such a dream destination, the trip felt rushed, underwhelming, and not worth the price we paid.

I came with my wife and friends for this safari. George was our guide and driver and he has been extremely friendly and helpful person as a guide, driver and always cared for all five of us who traveled in his car. He is sincere, very hard working, knowledgeable about the places to see , routes and things we expect to see . We thoroughly enjoyed his company and have seen everything in this trip beyond our expectations. We will recommend him to all of our friends and family who wants to visit in future .

We were more than happy with our busy schedules from 3rd August to 11th / 12 th August 25. Only thing we felt need to be improved for our mostly doctors friends group is packed lunch . Some of the packed food were not easily eatable. Other thing is that goal post kept on changing which we ment that after co.ing here we came to know that our initial hotels have been changed. Changed hotels were good but it is nice to know where we will be staying during our holidays. Peris is extremely helpful and guided us extremely well during our trip. The other person who was our safari jeep driver - George. He is extremely courteous, knowledgeable, expert communicator, helpful and look after us so well that we feel he will be an asset in your company as an driver. All in all when we go back to England we will recommend your company to our friends. We will remember George and Peris for a long long time for their sincerity, service and sacrifice. We were in Kenya between 18th-28th july 2025 and we used meektrails to plan our trip and they did a wonderful job. The trip was full of activity and also well paced. At no point did we feel like " wish this was done instead of that " we were completely satisfied with whatevrr was arranged, be the vehicle, the hotels, and of course the safaris which we were very lucky with. But icing on the cake was out guide/ driver Gideon. Not only was a great driver and very knowledgeable, but also a fine human being. He treated humans and animals with so much respect. This review is for George. If you are going with meek trails highly recommend George. He is an excellent guide who is deeply knowledgeable. He shared so many facts with us ! We enjoyed our week long safari with him a lot. I was also unwell and George was very caring. We enjoyed our conversations with him. We spotted all the big 5, the ugly 5 and fabulous 7 ! He made the experience of our first safari very memorable.

We had the most unforgettable safari experience in Kenya, all thanks to Meektrails Safaris and our exceptional guide, Anthony. From the sweeping savannahs of the Masai Mara to the serene beauty of Lakes Nakuru and Naivasha, the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, the conservation haven of Ol Pejeta, and the vibrant pulse of Nairobi — every moment was perfectly planned and flawlessly executed. Anthony was an absolute star throughout the journey. His deep knowledge of the terrain, wildlife, and plant life in each region added so much depth and meaning to our adventure. He had an incredible eye for spotting animals and always made sure we were in the right place at the right time for those magical sightings. Beyond his expertise, his warm personality, patience, and passion for nature made him a true pleasure to travel with. This trip exceeded every expectation, and we have Anthony and the Meektrails team to thank for it. Meektrails is AWESOME. Okay let's start from the beginning. The ride from the airport provided by the hotel did not show. I messaged Meektrails and they sent someone to pick us up within 15 minutes. The driver they sent Tom (awesome), ended up being our driver for the time we spent in Nairobi. Meektrails was very informative and communicative, from before the time I booked with them until the end of our trip. The best part of our 7 day 6 night trip was not the animals. It was our safari guide and now part of our "Family By Choice" Robin. He was educational fun and a true professional, if you are lucky enough to get Robin as your guide consider yourself fortunate. The safari itself was magnificent, the lodging, the food and the staff at the lodges were great. In closing I want to personally thank Meektrails Safari for helping me check off my biggest lifetime bucket list item in a perfect way.

From the first contact with Esther to gather information about the safari to actually booking the safari, the experience was seamless. Communication with Esther was very easy and expeditious, explaining information in a clear way. During the safari we were accompanied by Habil for the whole week; an extremely friendly person, knowledgeable and always on time! He always drove in a safe way and knows the parks extremely well. Highly recommended! The tour itself was nicely organised with various activities: several game drives inside the parks, boat safari, walking tours, and a cultural visit to a local community. Lodges selected were out of this world: highly luxurious and comfortable. Highly recommended! Well done Meektrails, and thank you Esther and Habil! A+ all the way!

Six of us took a 8 day safari with Meektrails, visiting Amboseli, Naivasha & Nakuru, and Masai Mara and had a very pleasant experience. Our guide, James Kihara, was simply awesome. He was tireless in showing us the animals and other sites, was very attentive to our needs, and remembered every small request we made, such as wanting to buy Kenyan coffee on the way back to Nairobi. He handled every terrain—muddy Mara trails or dusty Amboseli plains—with ease, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the journey. What impressed us most was Ben’s ability to spot animals from a distance and his willingness to share detailed explanations about their behavior, habitat, and even individual stories. Thanks to him, we saw elephants bathing, lions resting under trees, and much more—always from a respectful and safe distance. Ben’s patience, warm personality, and deep passion for nature made every moment meaningful. We felt supported, informed, and inspired every single day. We just completed an incredible 8 day Kenya safari with Meektrails. From the outset our tour consultant Diana was very attentive and answered our queries and was flexible to change the itinerary based on what we wanted to see. We covered Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara. We landed right during the saba saba and Meektrails made sure we exited Nairobi pretty early in the morning to avoid road closures and for our safety. We were really fortunate to have George assigned as our guide and he was so knowledgeable and passionate about all topics. He didn’t feel like a guide, he felt like family. He was always making sure our 70yr old mum was comfortable everyday. He was able to answer all questions on wildlife, Masai culture, about the wildlife parks and about plant and bird species. He was enthusiastic to help us spot as many animals as possible and had the patience to wait as long as we wanted without rushing us to leave. We saw sooo many animals - Lion prides, cheetahs and a cheetah hunt too, elephant crossings, we were lucky to spot two elusive leopards, Rhino, the wildebeest other grazers, hyena, hippos, Masai and Nubian giraffe, dozens of different bird and plant species. The great migration was just beginning and we were lucky to witness that. The food in all the lodges was amazing and the land cruiser was so comfortable. Meektrails even upgraded our stay for the last 3 nights as the trip was a special occasion of our Mom’s birthday. Such a sweet gesture from them. I recently returned from a 8 day safari trip in Kenya with my family and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It was a girl’s trip with my mom and sister and I want to highlight the fact that we always felt safe. We visited Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru National Park and finally Maasai Mara. We were lucky enough to witness the Big Five. We also spotted prides of lions, cheetah hunting its prey and elephants crossing our path at sunset. Our guide George was fun-loving, sweet and extremely knowledgeable & passionate in not only pointing out the animals, but also sharing interesting facts about the animals, birds, and local culture. He also helped to locate animals which we wouldn’t have expected to see like hyenas, rhinos, warthogs, jackal, marabou stork and dik dik. He was always patient and would wait as long as we wanted to once we spotted an animal or bird. The accommodations were very good — comfortable, clean, and often right in the heart of nature. Sleeping to the sounds of hyenas at night was surreal (also safe as there were guards patrolling the area all night). We also had the chance to visit a local Maasai village, which was a humbling experience. The walking safari in Crescent island where we walked close to the zebras, giraffes and wildebeest was another wild experience. I want to thank Meektrails Safaris for this memorable experience which will last for a lifetime. And I would recommend requesting George as your guide the next time you choose to visit Kenya with Meektrails.

This was our first time in Kenya and in Africa, and we had the best memories ever from this trip! We booked a 7-day safari with MeekTrails and were guided by Ben — he was absolutely amazing. We were lucky to witness the wildebeest migration at the Sand River crossing in Maasai Mara, see all of the Big Five, and even a pride of lions eating a buffalo! Our journey covered Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and Maasai Mara — everything was so well organized. Even before the safari started, MeekTrails made our arrival stress-free by offering a complimentary airport transfer to our hotel. We landed at midnight, so this service was incredibly thoughtful and helpful. As a bonus, we also got a free upgrade to a luxury tent for two nights at Lalashe Mara Ripoi — it was such a beautiful and comfortable stay!
