Day 1 Nairobi -Samburu Game Reserve
Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner
07:00 hrs. Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi airport or Nairobi area residence.
We’ll head out in our 4 x 4 private Jeep through Kenya’s central highlands, viewing coffee, tea, sisal, and pineapple plantations.
Day 2 Full Day Samburu Game Reserve
Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Let’s get up early to make the most of this beautiful day and enjoy the birdsong as we venture out on our first morning game drive.
Besides the big game, the park hosts some unusual species like Grevy’s zebra, beisa oryx, and the reticulated giraffe – animals you won’t commonly find.
We’ll travel along the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River, the life spring of this dry park and the best spot to view the thirsty wildlife.
And surprisingly in this arid reserve, you’ll find a busy assortment of birdlife amongst the forest and riverine vegetation. Look for kingfisher, guinea fowl, egret, falcon, and eagle.
We may also get a glimpse of the local Samburu tribes and their villages.
Day 3 Samburu Game Reserve – Ol Pejeta (180 km – Approx. 3 Hrs)
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We’ll take a final early morning game viewing drive through Samburu and head for the cooler regions of Mt. Kenya and Laikipia.
Ol Pejeta amazes with its diversity – lots of predators here, Africa’s famous Big Five… but also a special rhino sanctuary, protecting over one hundred of the endangered species.
Here too you’ll find the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can enjoy the antics of these intelligent and playful animals.
Day 4 Ol Pejeta – Aberdares National Park (80Kms – Approx. 1 hr)
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
This rich sanctuary provides views of other species such as impala, giraffe, baboon, jackal, and hyena. Let’s take an early morning drive in the 4 x 4 to see if you can spot some of them.
Now it’s a quick drive to Aberdare National Park and the upcountry terrain here is quite different – mountains, rainforest, and cool evening mists.
We’ll arrive in time for lunch and then head to your tree hotel. Enjoy relaxation time from your balcony as you take in the wildlife below at an adjacent watering hole. Look for antelope, elephant, buffalo, hyena, bush pigs, and waterbuck.
Day 5 Aberdare – Lake Nakuru National Park (180 km – Approx. 4 Hrs)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
It’s time to head out to the Rift Valley lake country. On our way to Lake Nakuru, we’ll stop at Nyahururu to see the awesome power of the cascading Thompson’s Falls.
We’ll pass farming country as we traverse the dramatic rises and falls of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
Arriving at Lake Nakuru Park, we’ll have time for a bird and game viewing drive. This lovely reserve is pleasing to the eye with its forests and acacia trees.
Some flamingoes dot the lakeshore as well as kingfishers, ostriches, and raptors like herons and eagles. We will also spot rhinos in the protected sanctuary here and be on the lookout for the rare Rothschild’s giraffe nibbling at the branches above.
Day 6 Lake Nakuru – Lake Bogoria/Lake Naivasha: (340km – Approx. 6 hrs)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
The lake provides a stunning setting for an early game drive, and we’ll enjoy the moment in this beautiful park.
Continuing our scenic route through the Great Rift Valley, our next destination will be Lake Bogoria National Reserve.
The park is a geothermal spectacle of hot springs and bubbling geysers around an alkaline lake that hosts flamingoes and wildlife in the area like kudu and antelope.
We’ll hop back in the 4 x 4 heading for our next park, Lake Naivasha. This freshwater lake and its surrounding parks will give us plenty of sightings of small game and an abundance of birdlife.
Here’s your opportunity to go bicycling in a national park. We’ll take a short bicycle safari to nearby Hell’s Gate National Park and then hike through imposing gorges looking for grazing antelope, zebra, impala, and buffalo.
Day 7 Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara (240 km – Approx. 5 hrs.)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
It’s a perfect morning for a sail across the lake. Let’s glide by dozing hippos as they awake to see us passing by and we’ll take in the active birdlife hovering about.
Now that everyone is awake, we’ll enjoy a short, guided walking safari to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. This little park is filled with yet more grazing game so check out the wildebeest, waterbuck, and gazelle strolling about.
We’ve seen and experienced a lot this past week, but now it’s time to set our sights for the jewel in the crown of Kenya’s wildlife parks – Masai Mara National Reserve.
We will arrive at the park in time for an afternoon game drive, the first of many here. The reserve reflects an outstanding ecosystem, known for supporting the highest concentration of wildlife in this region. You’ll soon see examples of this as we go tracking the Big Five and the more than 90 mammal species in the park.
Day 8 Full day – Masai Mara
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today we will traverse the savannahs, hills, and rivers, searching for all the big game. The Masai Mara is famous for its many sightings of lion, cheetah, hyena and other predators.
We’ll also see if we can spot topi, eland, and birds like stork, kingfisher, and hornbills in this fertile ecosystem.
If you’re seeing great processions of wildebeests and zebra marching through the reserve, you’re most likely here during the migrating season – July through October. That’s when vast herds invade the park, crossing the Mara River in a never-ending search for sustenance.
We’ll picnic by the Mara River, site of the crossing and look for hippos and crocodiles plying the muddy waters.
For an up-close cultural encounter, we offer an optional visit to the local Maasai tribespeople in their nearby village. You’ll be able to learn about their lifestyle and perhaps purchase some colorful beaded souvenirs.
For a truly unforgettable experience take advantage of our optional pre-dawn balloon safari over the park. You’ll get an eagle’s eye view of the park coming to life as the animals below awake to a fresh, new day. Just ask your driver/guide to make the arrangements.
Day 9 Masai Mara – Nairobi (265km – Approx. 5 hrs)
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch.
Let’s go for one more early game drive to round out our checklist.
We’ll breakfast and perhaps some see more wildlife as we exit the park.
Heading back to Nairobi, we should arrive at about 16:30 hrs. (4:30 pm).

Fantastic African Safari!
We scheduled our trip through Eluid who was very accommodating and easy to work with. Our driver was Ben who was outstanding and extremely knowledgeable about the animals and the history of the different parks we visited. Communication was very easy and he made us feel very comfortable and safe throughout our entire trip. I highly recommend Meektrails, Eluid and Ben to anyone when planning to rake a safari trip.
Professional and caring safari company that we would use again.
We did the 6 day safari with Meektrails to Amboselli, Nakuru and Massai Mara. Charles from Meektrails was so responsive in all the planning for the trip and guiding us on visas. The safari itself was wonderful with Philip as our guide and driver. He was so kind and knowledgeable and was a very safe driver considering the difficult road conditions. Tourists should be aware that the driving time can be longer than expected in the brochures as the rain can damage the roads or due to traffic. For our trip all the accommodations and meals were wonderful and the overall Safari experience is one we will treasure forever! Thank you to the Meektrails team!

Great experience / fantastic Anthony (guide)
Hello! We are a family of 5 from Gipuzkoa Spain and we have recently travelled with Meektrails. The experience has been fantastic and they really deliver what they offer. Special mention to our guide Anthony who has taken care of us like his own family, a good professional with a lot of sensitivity to locate animals and a very respectful person with the environment and especially with people.

Great Safari with Meektrails
We recently completed a 7 night safari with Meektrails and had a great experience. Our tour was originally organized by Charles who was very responsive and able to customize our itinerary to our wishes and budget. We spent time in Maasai mara, Nakuru, Amboseli, and Tsavo and enjoyed all of them. The land cruiser was in excellent condition, with a pop-up roof, huge roll down windows, comfortable seats, and working power plugs. Our amazing guide was Anthony who really elevated the experience and allowed us to have an incredible Safari. From the start Anthony was so friendly and open, and made it clear his aim was to make our experience as great as possible. He was absolutely amazing at finding animals and getting us as close as possible to all different animals. We saw everything we had expected and more including cubs and young of nearly every species. He knows all the roads, routes, and small trails which allowed us to get very up close experiences. He also seems to know everyone, from other guides to park rangers which helped us learn about and find the location of animals. He was even also able to organize an early entrance to a couple of the parks to allow us to see sunrise in the park with the animals.Throughout the trip Anthony always double checked the planned schedule with us and offered many suggestions for changes or additions to the plan which really improved the trip. It's clear he has a lot of experience, and local knowledge which allowed him to adjust the itinerary in the best way possible. It's also clear he cares greatly for the local communities and organized for us to give our unused lunch packs to local children rather than seeing the food go to waste. We greatly appreciated our time with Anthony and thanks to him the safari exceeded all our expectations. As for Meektrails the booking process was responsive and easy, and everything was organized as discussed with no hitches. We would certainly organize another safari with Meektrails if returning to Kenya.
Best guide, best company
Our 7-day safari with Meektrails Safaris in Kenya with our guide Anthony was absolutely unforgettable! From start to finish, the experience exceeded all expectations. Our guide Anthony was phenomenal—he was knowledgeable, patient, and went above and beyond to ensure we saw everything on our wildlife wishlist. Thanks to his incredible skill and dedication, we had close encounters with the Big Five, witnessed breathtaking landscapes, and even saw species we hadn’t expected. His passion for wildlife and his deep understanding of the ecosystem made every game drive an adventure filled with learning and excitement. The accommodations and planning by Meektrails were seamless, making the whole journey stress-free and comfortable. Whether it was sunrise safari or tracking animals, every moment was magical. If you’re looking for a safari company that delivers an exceptional experience with a personal touch, Meektrails Safaris is the one. Highly recommended!
An amazing 6 day safari
We had a really great experience! We went on a 6 day safari. Our guide was Phillip, we went to Masai Mara and we spotted the big five. Phillip was a really good and enthusiastic guide. I would really recommend it.
Unforgettable first safari
We chose MeekTrails for our first family Safari in Kenya and it was a great choice. We built with them a program that perfectly fitted to our group (with people of different ages 11-60). Our five day safari brought us to Amboseli, Nakuru Lake and Masai Mara Nationals Parks and our fantastic guide Njinu made us see a lot of wild wonderful animals, included the big five! He could always find the best spots that made our experience unforgettable. The Sopa Lodges we chose were clean and comfortable, with a lot of services and pools. We strongly recommend MeekTrails if you’re thinking about going to Kenya to make a safari to discover african wikdlife! 🐆🐅🐘🦒🦏🐃
A week we never will forget
First of all: a big Thank You to the whole team of Meek Trails. From the first contact with Diana until the last drop off at the hotel in Nairobi everything was perfect. Especially Philip: he was calm during driving, told us everything we should know about Africa, the animals, the plants and how to behave in Kenia. Everyday we felt that he was not only doing his job very well, but he was really loving the nature, the big animals and the small ones, specially the moorhens. He was patient, waited with us for the best moments, so we were very lucky to see all the animals we had hoped to see and were able to shoot beautiful photos. We saw the Big 5, the Ugliest 5 and many others and many birds. The days with Philip were full of seeing things and many laughters. The chosen hotels were all beautiful, the meals very good. At last: Thank you Meek Trails for that beautiful and unforgettable surprise at my birthday, when the whole team of the Zebra Camp and a Masai-Group were singing and dancing for me. Diana and Philip: Asante sani - we will miss you!
