I'm writing this review even though we didn't ultimately hire Meektrails, not for any particular reason, but because we had to make a very difficult choice among three, excellent, local tour operators. (I won't be writing any reviews of the one we chose until after our trip next October/November.) PERIS is the reason you should contact Meektrails. No, not Paris the city. Peris the wonderful young woman who so skillfully and thoughtfully helped guide me through the planning of my lifelong dream: a safari to Kenya and Tanzania (and then on to Zanzibar like everybody else). Just a real joy to deal with (unfortunately, due to the time difference, email only). A real up-and-comer if I'm a good judge. Taking our family of 6 to see Kenya was a dream come true! Meek Trails was fabulous to work with and we are grateful for the trip they planned for us! Very professional and allowed us to customize our trip. They were extremely accommodating to what we wanted to see! We were able to take a hot air balloon over Maasai Mara and they scheduled that for us too. Top tier experience.Our guide was Bernard Njinu and we all felt like we hit the jackpot! He was so kind and passionate about showing us Kenya. He shared his knowledge about the birds, different trees and of course all the animals. We were amazed at what all he knew! And he was also very deliberate to help us have the best trip possible, like trying to line up a sight line to get a picture in front of Mount Kilimanjaro. He taught us about coffee and tea, and even split a coffee berry to show us the coffee beans on the inside! Another plus, he was a great driver! We noticed his care repeatedly. Jinu made the trip especially memorable for all of us!Another note, the vehicle we rode in was new and so comfortable and spacious. You spend a lot of time in your safari vehicle and we were thankful that it was comfortable.We planned our trip online through email, and it was a lot to plan. They were very patient, helpful and accommodating. I would never hesitate to recommend Meek Trails for an African safari!

Trustworthy, Professional and Responsive Safari Tour operator. Meeks Arranged my private two week Safari through Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar and it came off without a hitch. Constant contact was helpful. Our guide Peter was phenomenal. He is the “Mayor of the Mara”, you should absolutely request him. His newer vehicle, driving skills, knowledge and personality made the trip for us. I assure you it makes a big difference. The newer Toyota V8 Land Cruiser has roll up side windows, not slide back-and-forth windows as in the old one and it’s a game changer. I recommend insisting on a vehicle with roll down passenger windows.. Of course, I had a trepidation wiring a large sums of $$ to a Kenya based Safari company, but thankfully, this is a legitimate trustworthy established operator. We saw so many animals, prides of lions and big five it became common place right outside the hotel gates in Maura and Serengeti. Some of our hotels were really beautiful. Good value.. The food in Kenya is highly influenced by Indian culture. In Tanzania it’s different more individually. Served all very nice. Wonderful friendly people everywhere. Zanzibar is a great visit. We loved the Zanzibar Queen Hotel and the Serena. The Zanzibar queen has three special cabins on the ocean that should not be very difficult to book sanding your toes. All in all it was a great trip with lots of value brought by Meeks. For an example. Ritz Carlton on the Mara during the Christmas time that we went was almost 4000 a night. So put that in perspective. That’s what it will cost to jump levels. This was solid, 4.5 star properties all the way. Use them without concern.. Highly recommended.

We couldn’t have had a better trip if we’d tried. From start to finish, the experience was great, William our tour operator showed exemplary service throughout. Even managed to secure us some meektrail hoodies!We were lucky enough to have Anthony as our tour guide. He created a bespoke experience for us based on what we wanted. He was willing to change itineraries and plans to make the most of the time we had. We even challenged him to see 40 individual lions as a joke and he ended up finding us 54!The accommodations was great, if anything the pictures don’t do them justice. We booked the 7 day safari starting in masai mara and ending it in amboseli. We expected a lot from the safari and all our expectations were exceeded by the sheer greatness of the overall trip. The accommodations were spot on, the food (particularly the Vegetarian food) and amenities exceeded all expectations! We took the minivan option and we don't feel like we missed out on anything - those vans will go everywhere a jeep will without problems! We saw everything we wanted to see on this trip. Our driver Habil (Asanti Habil!!) is what really put the icing on the cake. We feel so lucky to have been paired with him and he really made the entire trip unforgettable. We were cracking jokes with each other the whole trip, he was so friendly, funny, and insanely knowledgeable. Every question we asked (and we asked a lot!) He knew the answer for. He made sure everything was exactly as we wanted it, he knew what animals we wanted to see the most and did his best to find them. We were lucky enough to see 4 of the big 5 in the very first hour of our safari! His English was perfect, we even spoke in a bit of German with him which he also handled very well. The transport between places was always short-lived because of his humour and light-heartedness. Truly an honour to have had him as our guide.We are very happy we chose Meektrails. We were unsure whether to book with them or not but are very happy we did, and would definitely book with them again!

We had a private 6D5N safari to Amboseli, Naivasha/Nakuru and Maasai Mara in December 2025. Overall the experience was amazing. We saw the big 5 and many many other animals. Everything worked perfectly, even though days were long. Special thanks to our guide Ben. He was very nice guy, always knew the best spots to see wildlife. 5/5!

6-Day Private Safari in Kenya ExtravaganzaOur safari with Meektrails in October/November was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The itinerary covered Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli, as our focus was Lions and Elephants which are our fave aniamls. Everything was well organised, with clear communication and seamless coordination throughout.The booking process was simple and all done via whatsapp (which feels a little unnerving at first given the costs involved), a few tweaks up until our departure and query relating to the cost of park entry fees etc., all of which were handled quickly and very professionally. We were initially a little nervous about payment upfront, but Meektrails were very flexible and transparent. We paid a deposit in advance and the outstanding balance on the morning of our first day (by card with a small transaction fee; cash was an option, but we didn't want to carry that much money with us). The Meektrails team met us at our hotel on the morning of the first day and sorted out payment, which was seamless.We were welcomed in person by Eliud, who managed the booking for us on whatsapp, along with the owner of the company and a couple other members of the team, this really demonstrated their commitment to customer service. It was clear from the outset that Meektrails is a local company that genuinely cares about its guests, and that personal touch made a huge difference.A huge part of what made the trip so special was our driver and guide, Antony. He was outstanding – knowledgeable, calm, and genuinely passionate about wildlife, conservation and Kenya. His ability to spot animals was incredible, and we often found ourselves enjoying sightings before other vehicles arrived. He was also very respectful in how he positioned the vehicle, allowing us to observe wildlife without disturbance, and he was always happy to answer questions on anoything animal or Kenya related. We always felt safe and secure with him.We were also genuinely blown away by a complimentary upgrade for our first two nights to luxury accommodation, at no extra cost to us, due to the mix up with the park fees. The lodge was absolutely stunning and the food was amazing; one of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed – such a generous and thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the whole trip.The pace of the safari was perfect – never rushed, but making the most of every day. Timings and logistics were spot on, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy the experience. It felt very personal and carefully curated rather than a standard package.This was a trip we'd both dreamt of doing for so long, and Meektrails Safari exceeded every expectation. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a safari in Kenya, and if you can request Antony as your driver, you’ll be in the very best hands.If we were to ever do another Safari in Kenya we'd definitely use Meektrails and have already recommended them to friends. 7 Day, 6 Night Safari to Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara with JosephWe went on a 7 Day, 6 Night Safari to Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara with our guide and driver Joseph from Meektrails in early December 2025 and had a fantastic experience on our first safari ever.Joseph was an outstanding guide, deftly spotting animals on our game drives and sharing his wealth of knowledge regarding the animals. He did an excellent job driving on some challenging roads, and was a pleasure to be with throughout the trip. We got to see all of the Big 5 and the Ugly 5. Highlights included: spending time with 3 rhinos who were very near our jeep, seeing a cheetah and also a leopard with recent gazelle kills, spending time with lions and elephants a few meters from our vehicle, and seeing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Lake Nakuru Park ended up being our favorite (which we did not expect coming in)!We opted for a mid-range safari. The hotels/tented camps were comfortable and the meals were good. The driving distances between some of the parks can be long and the driving conditions (unpaved roads and/or roads with significant potholes and traffic) can be challenging, so keep that in mind as you plan your itinerary. Ideally, we would have added 1 more day to our itinerary (but kept the number of parks the same), so that we would have a little bit more time to rest and not be in rush mode to drive to the next park, but that was a decision we made regarding the itinerary. In early December, the conditions for game drives and seeing animals were excellent. We loved our experience with Joseph and Meektrails and wholeheartedly recommend you go on safari in Kenya and book with Meektrails!

We did 7 nights, 3 in Maasai Mara, 3 in Serengeti and 1 in Ngorongoro Crater. The entire experience was amazing. Setting up the trip was easy and communication was very easy and timely. We were able to make the trip customizable. We had 2 guides, 1 for Kenya and another for Tanzania. Both guides were incredible, knowledgeable and friendly. I cannot recommend this company enough!! We were surrounded by the friendliest people and most incredible wildlife!

We spent a week in Masai Mara and Naivasha, with Meektrails taking care of our transport and Safaris. They are a professionally run company, and offer a range of services. Out experience with them was great. The driver Habil was friendly and helpful. He took great care of us. He drove well on the tricky tracks inside the park and on pot-holed roads. We did a Family Safari for 8 days with MeekTrails. This was our first time with Meek Trails though we are frequent visitors to Kenya. We had an absolutely amazing experience with Meek Trails. Bernard Njinu was our driver/guide. We have traveled with him before and therefore made a special request for him to guide us. Njinu is a professional - experienced, patient and knowledgeable about Kenyan history, the fauna ( botany), and wildlife. He guided us perfectly. She was available at moment’s notice from the time we started planning the trip to everyday we were on the actual trip. Excellent customer service through and through. Fantastic nature viewing. We 4 family friends did 6 night's tour includes Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru and Massai Mara. Our tour guide cum driver Mr. Bernard Njinu was experienced and knowledgeable person. He showed us maximum number of birds and animals. Atmosphere was pleasant.

Our safari with Meektrails was 10/10. From the beginning everyone has been very quick and polite to respond and provide enough information for us to prepare. We did the 6 day safari and it was absolutely packed - I'd recommend to anyone minimum 6 days if you're covering 3 parks! Our tour guide, Habil, was the highlight for us. He was funny, friendly and always answered our questions we had about life in Kenya, and any of the animals we saw - we learnt so much with him. We were extremely lucky to see all big 5 so many times and Habil's positive vibes definitely carried us through the long drives and waits on game drives, his resilience to keep trying just so we could get one glimpse ended up in us seeing 3 leopards and 6 rhinos (plus so much more just look at the pictures)! I can't recommend these guys enough. Amazing.

We had our 8 days Safari in Kenya and it was amazing. William helped us with some changes during the trip and our guide Lucas was very professional with his driving skills and knowledge of nature. He’s also very thoughtful with my 5 year old daughter, taking care of her needs along the road. Definitely recommend them to family with kids.

My wife and I took a 7 day trip in October and we both agree it was one of the best experiences of our lives. I cannot say enough good things about Meektrails. After watching countless online videoos, I had narrowed down the potential tour operators to 3 and sent each an idea of what we wanted to do. Diana with Meek was first to respond, helpful and accomodating. As I continued to narrow down and fine tune locations and times, Diana was always the quickest and most responsive, so we chose MT and I am so glad. (She even helped us with accomodations in and out of the country.) The morning we set out, Mr. Meek, who started the company, Diana and our OUTSTANDING guide Dennis were all there. Dennis was incredible every day, every step of the way. Not only did he find the animals and get us in position, but he could also be a professional photographer. He showed my wife and I things on the 35MM and even the Iphone that we did not know, but he still took the best, most stunning pictures. Plus, he was an outstanding conversationalist, and not just animals, Kenya and Africa, but everything from international affairs to cars, from US/China trade to The Grand Tour. Fantastic guide and person in every way. Our flight out was very late, so he took an extra scenic route thru Nairobi and the three of us had dinner together. The accomodations MT booked were great, they supplied water, insulated water bottles and safari hats. As an example of their commitment to the customer, we had booked the mid-level accomodations, but along the way some guests a day ahead of us had a bad experience at one of them, so MT re-booked us into a high-level room at a different resort at no charge to make sure we did not experience whatever went wrong at our original location. If you want a pperfect safari experience, go with Meektrails!

We had an unforgettable 10 day experience on our safari with Meektrails for 2 people. Our guide, Patrick, went above and beyond to make the trip exceptional. After our original safari in Tanzania was cancelled last minute (civil unrest), we reached out to meektrails. We did the 5 day tour of Amboseli, Nakuru, Naivasha & Masai Mara. Esther was an absolute god send in helping us figure out a new trip within a couple of hours. Although this is not what we originally planned the trip was outstanding. Habil, our guide, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best safari. Habil was knowledgeable, friendly and really new every park like the back of his hand. We were and still are so happy with everything that we managed to see in our short trip. The accommodation was of a good standard, the food can get a bit repetitive but still nice. The drives in between parks can be long, so be prepared for that. Habil was helpful in breaking down the journeys for us which we were very grateful for. If you book this tour you will not be disappointed. We would not hesitate to book with Meektrails in the future. We had the best trip!

We were very lucky to spend 7days/6 nights with Gideon as our guide and driver. From the moment we were picked up he was funny and engaging, gave us many insights and information about all the animals, even the birds, local life and kenya. He answered all of our questions and went above an beyond every single day.He was very punctual which we really appreciated and never said no to any request. Gideons passion for his job and the animals is greatly felt and makes the entire experience so much more special!Charles organized and booked our tour and even organized some items we had forgotten to bring which was outstanding.For our anniversary we got the most incredible upgrade and celebration and stayed in the most beautiful place we have every experienced, making us not want to leave.We were very lucky to catch many special moments with the animals, mainly due to our amazing guide Gideon and the communication they have with other guides. But remember nature is unpredictable and you can never be sure what you will see and experience amd often times its all about being at the right place at the right time and having patience.The only thing i would do differently next time is to add an extra day at the masai mara as it is sooo big and there is so much to see and I could never get enough of the animals and all the action.We have been to over 90 countries, tried many different Tour guides and our expectation were quiet low as we had bad experiences in other African countries before but Meektrails and especially Charles and Gideon went above and beyond and made this trip one of our favorite experiences and one we definitely and without any hesitation recommend to anyone interested in doing a safari in Kenya.Ps. Please don't forget to tip your guide well for all the hard work and long hours he puts in.

Meektrails came highly recommended from some friends who have recently engaged them and they did not disappoint.Esther, our appointed facilitator, was very proactive in proposing different options to suit our budget, involving different locations and combinations thereof. She was also very helpful in advising us on the transit options, including taking bush planes between Nairobi, Amboseli and Maasai Mara, which was a huge time saver. She proposed a video call early on to get to know us better, which we thought was a nice touch. She was very responsive throughout the planning and made sure to check in with us during our excursions.Special thanks to Njinu, for the Lake Naivasha and Lake Elementaita leg of our journey. He is a reservoir of knowledge, not just in the Safari aspects but also in the Kenyan culture and way of life, and is very generous with sharing, giving us valuable context which significantly enriched our experience.Top tips and what we learned:1) Communication with your tour agency - do not be afraid to ask all the questions you need to and explore all options before finalising your itinerary2) Travel by bush planes between locations, if possible. It is much more comfortable than long road trips and cuts travel time by more than two-thirds. And quite an experience in itself.3) Safari guides make or break your experience - Make sure to invest in the best ones, they would have an on-the-ground network who communicate real-time animal sightings with each other4) For the photographers:a) Bring the best gear you can. Two or three weather sealed bodies (the dust problem is real) covering 24mm to 600mm full frame equivalent is recommended.b) As always, early morning and late afternoon light are the best. However, mornings are preferable due to lack of heat haze for long shots.c) Make sure to specify an open-sided vehicles for game drives, which will give you better (lower) angles to work with.Overall, our trip could not have gone any better. We had an absolutely amazing time on our Safari. It was a dream come true. Eluid our consultant was fantastic. He tailored our itinerary to our needs and was excellent with his communication and attention to detail. He answered all our questions and concerns and was honest about everything. We booked a 9 day tour which included a couple of days in Diani Beach. Our tour Habil guide exceeded our expectations. He is extremely knowledgeable about wildlife, local culture and the environment. Due to his expertise and dedication we managed to see the big 5 which was an incredible experience. We had so many great moments on our journeys, we laughed, joked and enjoyed the company. We will cherish these memories forever. One other thing I'd like to add is, as four female travellers we felt safe and comfortable throughout our journey. The safari experience was absolutely amazing and truly unforgettable. We’re especially grateful for Ben, our driver and ranger, whose deep knowledge and instinct for the savannah made all the difference. Thanks to him, we were able to spot incredible wildlife and learn so much along the way. The hotel choices were also very much to our liking: welcoming staff, beautiful facilities and a great atmosphere that made the whole trip even more special. Not to mention the flexibility and the ongoing support along the way. Not only the entire schedule was tailored to our preferences, but as the weather hasn't been kind for a couple days our plans got changed on the go so that we would not miss anything due to the unexpected rain.Overall, we’re extremely thankful and will definitely recommend Meektrails Safaris to anyone planning a trip to Kenya!

We had an amazing 8 days safari thanks to meek trails. I was looking for something a little bit different, because I needed to work around a 5 night trip I had already booked to Maasai Mara.Eliud was extremely communicative and flexible in building an itinerary just for my needs. The services were exactly what I had asked for, and right within my budget. We also got two upgraded nights at some very upscale lodges.The real shining star of this trip was the driver in guide, Gideon. He was absolutely amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the areas we were visiting. He made many recommendations in a couple alterations to our itinerary which were perfect. I don't think we could have asked for a better guide.I have zero hesitation about using MeekTrailSafaris in the future. I cannot recommend them any higher.

Meektrails Safari organised a five day private tour, including Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and the Maasai Mara. We stayed at Sopa Lodges and Zebra Plains Camp and our driver, guide and mentor for the trip was the quite incredible James. Simply put, James's warm humour, brilliant driving, and unbeatable knowledge and experience, ensured that we had a fabulous week. There's a lot of driving in very challenging traffic, on often truly awful and dusty roads, but this never distracted from what was a once in a lifetime adventure. Very professional approach and clear communication (very responsive) before and during our trip. They helped us plan an amazing week in Kenya, catering to all our preferences (including vegetarian diet). Our driver was a very experienced driver and guide, it was a pleasure discovering the country with him.

Our trip was a 4 day 3 night safari to Lake Naivasha, Lake Lokuru National Park and the Masai Mara National Reserve. Our driver and guide, Carlos, collected us (2 couples from the UK) from our base in Nairobi in his Toyota Land Cruiser Safari jeep and drove us to Lake Navaisha, with a short stop en route with a panoramic view of the Rift Valley. We enjoyed a boat tour of the lake and saw many birds, including fish eagles, as well as hippos, followed by a guided safari walk in a protected reserve to see animals such as zebra, buffaloes etc close up. Accommodation that night was at Ziwa Bush Lodge in a thatched cabin. Day 2 we drove around Lake Lokuru with more sightings of beautiful birds and many African animals. After lunch back at the lodge, we had a long drive to the Mtito Safari Camp near the Masai Mara Reserve, our accommodation for 2 nights in a safari tent. This camp was beautifully laid out and the restaurant overlooked the river with a view of the hippos. Day 3 was a full day safari drive around the Masai Mara where we saw a full range of animals and had picnic lunch under a tree. Day 4 we visited a Masai village where we were welcomed with song and dance, and a guided tour of their small village to learn about their culture. Our driver, Carlos, was a fantastic guide who went the extra mile to ensure we saw as much as possible. His driving skills were impressive, from driving us safely through the chaotic Kenya traffic and poor roads, to off-roading tracks around the Masai Mara. We felt completely safe with him and very much enjoyed his company.Highlights of the trip: Boat trip on Lake Naivasha. Bird life and animals at Lake Lokuru, fewer safari jeeps than at Masai Mara. Full day at Masai Mara. Carlos' enthusiasm and professionalism throughout the whole trip. A huge thank you Carlos!Slight negative comments: Lunch on Day 1 en route to Lake Lokuru - supposed to be a buffet lunch but very poor quality. The long drive from Lokuru to Masai Mara was exhausting. Tents at Mtito camp had poor lighting. Hard sell of souvenirs at the Masai Village rather spoiled the experience.This was our friends' second visit to Kenya but our first. We all felt the 4 day itinerary gave us a truly amazing experience of the real Kenya as well as all the extraordinary wildlife.

We opted for a private 5 day tour including Masai Mara, Nakuru NP and Amboseli. Overall, it was a really good experience. Everyone was very nice and friendly, the service was excellent. The planning and itinerary was a 9/10 for me as I think it could have been optimised much better to cut down on travel time. But the safaris and game drives were out of this world, and our guide Peter was superb! He made sure we got to see amazing sights and took care of us during the entire journey.

We have an amazing experience with meektrails. No matter from our communication or payment method and our experience in safari, they are all acting efficiently and responsive. Our guide is Jason, a professional and responsible guide, he provides really nice services on safari, trying to help us to see more animals and also great photos, even teaching me some basic language, cultures and some animal knowledges in Kenya. Since it’s our anniversary trip, meektrails also prepare special arrangements for us! And I enjoy all the resorts in this trip, it’s even out of my expectations. I want to start off by giving a huge thank you to MeekTrails, Paris who was our coordinator and mainly our tour guide George for making this experience so perfect and special! Planning a trip to Africa could be overwhelming but with the help of MeekTrails we didn’t have to worry about anything. Our tour guide George has 15 years of experience on the job and it showed! His knowledge about Africa and the safari trip about the animals was impressive. I’ve learned more than I thought I knew about the animals! George far exceeded our expectations when it came to the Safari trip! He made sure that we were front and center in all the action when it came to the animals. His mission was to get us close, but also keep us safe and we were able to capture some incredible pictures and videos!The places we stayed at were great! It was very comfortable and the rooms exceeded our expectations. The people were very friendly and welcoming. The food was great and cultural. My girlfriend wanted to surprise me with the birthday cake and George our tour guide made sure that everything was perfect for the big surprise. Special thank you to George for his hard work and great/funny conversations (he’s just a young boy who doesn’t even own a house but the young boy won lol). We will definitely be recommending him to other friends and family.100% satisfied!!

It was a wonderful trip with meektrails safaris. Our coordinator Gadson has perfectly arranged the tour, every hotel is great. The ol tukai with perfect view of Mount Kilimanjaro and with lots of animals directly in front of the hotel rooms. Sunrise was fabulous, you can’t miss it. Sopa Naivasha is like in the fairytale, giraffes can appear in front of your window. Our guide Carlos must be one of the best guide in Kenya. He always finds us the animals we want to see and always gets us the best view to enjoy the scene and to take pictures and videos. He is very familiar with all the national reserves and knows where the animals live and their habits. With his help, we have seen a lot of rare animals. He is very kind and always trying to satisfy our needs. Definitely to be recommended.

The experience has been amazing. 8 days-7 nights plenty of unforgettable memories! From the beginning, everything has been really easy for us. Diana helped us to adapt our itinerary and the result was impressive. Amboseli, Ol Pejeta, Samburu, Hell's Gate, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara! Wow! Our guide, Njinu, is an open book in terms of wild animals, nature, traditions, etc. of Kenia! We really enjoyed this trip with him, and we learnt a lot at the same time than we were seeing lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, etc. Unbelievable! In the last week of September we enjoyed a fine safari at three game reserves, Amboseli, Nakuru and Masai Mara staying at the SOPA Lodges set up by Meektrails. Since December we were handled largely by Esther and appreciated the efficiency and friendliness of her. Queries answered. Itinerary straightforward with variety at each reserve. The Sopa lodges are mid-range and finely positioned and tasteful architecture inside. Busy and no complaints. Longish drives in between but you enjoy the countryside en route. The animals and bird life are what you come to see, the biggest memory of all , regardless of reserve. Of course our guide/driver , Joseph, organised us well. He comes into his own when spotting the wildlife in the field. We shared a sense of humour and chats along the way. Lorna had never been to Kenya and it will leave a deep all round memory. Oh how grateful and lucky I feel to have found this company and had a 6-day safari with them! If you are planning a safari, I'm not kidding, contact Meektrails. We got LUXURY treatment for a fraction of the cost. Our guide was brilliant! There just didn't seem to be anything he didn't know, not to mention how kind and engaging he was. We knew we were in the best possible hands. All the accommodation, the vehicle (!), the service - all just impeccable. They are responsive, communicative, professional, and patient with a newbie. These people know what they are doing. Confession - I got a bad case of internet-induced paranoia before the trip. Started suspecting everything was a scam and everybody was fake. I read too many warnings. So, if you're like me, calm down, stop reading that stuff, be a little patient while they work out the final details, and rest assured Meektrails is the real deal, even if they seem too good to be true. You would be foolish not to take your safari with them.

We booked an 8-day safari with Meek Trails. At the planning stage, everything seemed smooth—they provided us with a detailed itinerary and a list of accommodations. However, once we paid the advance, things started getting complicated.We had to follow up 7–8 times just to get accommodation confirmations. When they finally shared the details, we realized that our hotels had been downgraded from what was originally promised (initially we were booked in Sopa Hotels). Despite repeatedly asking them to either reinstate the original hotels or provide something of the same level, this was never done. Instead, they tried to upsell the downgraded options by saying they were "equivalent," which they clearly were not. Importantly, the total amount we paid did not decrease even though the standard of accommodation was reduced.We decided to pay the remaining balance upon arriving in Nairobi, thinking we’d give the accommodations a fair try. Unfortunately, the hotels throughout the trip were definitely a downgrade from what we were promised. Even after multiple complaints during the trip, the response was always that “all hotels are full,” and no action was taken.Another disappointment was the vehicle. We paid extra to upgrade to a Land Cruiser, but the vehicle provided was in poor condition inside, not what we expected for the additional cost.On the positive side, the guides and drivers were excellent. Alex, our main guide, was very experienced and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to make sure we spotted as many animals as possible and truly made the safari experience worthwhile. On our return journey from Maasai Mara to Nairobi, Joseph was our guide—again, very professional, friendly, and helpful.In summary, while the guides were fantastic, the management of accommodations and vehicle quality was disappointing, especially given the amount we paid. Meek Trails needs to improve their transparency and service quality if they want to provide a reliable safari experience.

His immense knowledge with Kenyan culture and wildlife made our adventure a memorable one. George always made sure we were always comfortable during long drives. We had a wonderful time on our 12-day safari with Meektrails. Our guide Njinu has a vast knowledge of the animals, birds, plants, land and culture of Kenya and was able to answer all our questions. I highly recommend this company. Their communication was excellent from the first contact on. They did everything they outlined in their well written and detailed quote. I worked with Gadson from the very start. We did have one concern when Gadson did not respond the night before we were to leave Nairobi for the safari. Turns out he was suddenly taken to the hospital! When another rep from Meektrails did contact us they were great and upgraded our first camp to a super place. Our guide/driver the entire 8 day safari was James. He is wonderful. Very knowledgeable, excellent driver and all around kind and considerate person. James was able to show us 4 of the big 5 and tons of other animals. He created a experience of a lifetime. One we will never forget. The camps were all very nice. Each one different than the last but all very clean and comfortable. The staff in these camps were top notch and friendly. We ended our adventure with 2 weeks in Diani Beach at Baobob resort that Gadson organized. It is everything you could ask for in a Beach all inclusive. Thank you Meektrails for all you did.
