We had a large group visiting Kenya for a weeks safari covering Lake Elementaita, Amboseli, Hells Gate and Masai Mara. Our tour guide and driver Julius was exceptional, even finding both a cheetah and a leopard catching their pray on the same day! Everyone was very helpful with my elderly father in law, and when my son lost his teddy bears at one hotel, he managed to get the back to Nairobi to be reunited. Julius was very knowledgeable about everything, and a very good driver. The Land Cruiser that was provided was very clean and comfortable. I cannot imagine a better tour company to go with.

Our Kenya safari with Meektrails Safaris, my wife turned into one of the most disappointing trips we’ve ever taken. From day , nothing went as promised. Kenya’s wildlife is beautiful, but with the Meektrails wrong operator we choose, the magic disappears completely. We were picked up hours late with no apology, crammed into an old, noisy vehicle where the windows barely opened, making it almost impossible to take photos or even breathe comfortably in the heat. The so-called luxury lodge looked nothing like the pictures dirty rooms, broken showers, and food that tasted like it was thrown together without care. Game drives felt rushed and unplanned; the guide seemed bored, barely speaking, and only stopped when other jeeps had already spotted animals. We missed out on key sightings because of poor timing and lack of effort. Instead of the magical safari we’d dreamed of, we got frustration, wasted time, and a feeling that we were just another booking on their list. For the amount of money we paid, this experience felt like a complete rip-off. The itinerary promised full game drives, but in reality, we spent more time waiting at the lodge than exploring. Meals were repetitive and poorly prepared, and some lodge facilities didn’t match the descriptions given. The guide seemed disinterested, offering little information about the wildlife or the park, and often stopping only when other vehicles had already spotted something. We still saw a few animals, but the overall experience lacked the excitement, care, and professionalism we were hoping for. For such a dream destination, the trip felt rushed, underwhelming, and not worth the price we paid.

I came with my wife and friends for this safari. George was our guide and driver and he has been extremely friendly and helpful person as a guide, driver and always cared for all five of us who traveled in his car. He is sincere, very hard working, knowledgeable about the places to see , routes and things we expect to see . We thoroughly enjoyed his company and have seen everything in this trip beyond our expectations. We will recommend him to all of our friends and family who wants to visit in future .

We were more than happy with our busy schedules from 3rd August to 11th / 12 th August 25. Only thing we felt need to be improved for our mostly doctors friends group is packed lunch . Some of the packed food were not easily eatable. Other thing is that goal post kept on changing which we ment that after co.ing here we came to know that our initial hotels have been changed. Changed hotels were good but it is nice to know where we will be staying during our holidays. Peris is extremely helpful and guided us extremely well during our trip. The other person who was our safari jeep driver - George. He is extremely courteous, knowledgeable, expert communicator, helpful and look after us so well that we feel he will be an asset in your company as an driver. We are a group of 39 people who came mostly from United Kingdom to join Meektrails safari between 3rd and 11th of August 2025. This review is about our tour guide and driver George Ochola. The safari tour agent was very professional from start to finish. The accomodations were good. The guides (James and Anthony) spoke excellent English, were always punctual, jovial, and had a great sense of humor, making the trip very enjoyable. We were in Kenya between 18th-28th july 2025 and we used meektrails to plan our trip and they did a wonderful job. The trip was full of activity and also well paced. At no point did we feel like " wish this was done instead of that " we were completely satisfied with whatevrr was arranged, be the vehicle, the hotels, and of course the safaris which we were very lucky with. But icing on the cake was out guide/ driver Gideon. Not only was a great driver and very knowledgeable, but also a fine human being. He treated humans and animals with so much respect. At no point, just for the sake of a better view or photo, would be disrespect the jungle or the animals and i thought that is how every guide should be - animals first. Meektrails is AWESOME. Okay let's start from the beginning. The ride from the airport provided by the hotel did not show. I messaged Meektrails and they sent someone to pick us up within 15 minutes. The driver they sent Tom (awesome), ended up being our driver for the time we spent in Nairobi. Meektrails was very informative and communicative, from before the time I booked with them until the end of our trip. The best part of our 7 day 6 night trip was not the animals. It was our safari guide and now part of our "Family By Choice" Robin. He was educational fun and a true professional, if you are lucky enough to get Robin as your guide consider yourself fortunate. The safari itself was magnificent, the lodging, the food and the staff at the lodges were great. In closing I want to personally thank Meektrails Safari for helping me check off my biggest lifetime bucket list item in a perfect way.

From the first contact with Esther to gather information about the safari to actually booking the safari, the experience was seamless. We just completed an incredible 8 day Kenya safari with Meektrails. From the outset our tour consultant Diana was very attentive and answered our queries and was flexible to change the itinerary based on what we wanted to see. We covered Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara. We landed right during the saba saba and Meektrails made sure we exited Nairobi pretty early in the morning to avoid road closures and for our safety. We were really fortunate to have George assigned as our guide and he was so knowledgeable and passionate about all topics. He didn’t feel like a guide, he felt like family. He was always making sure our 70yr old mum was comfortable everyday. He was able to answer all questions on wildlife, Masai culture, about the wildlife parks and about plant and bird species. He was enthusiastic to help us spot as many animals as possible and had the patience to wait as long as we wanted without rushing us to leave. We saw sooo many animals - Lion prides, cheetahs and a cheetah hunt too, elephant crossings, we were lucky to spot two elusive leopards, Rhino, the wildebeest other grazers, hyena, hippos, Masai and Nubian giraffe, dozens of different bird and plant species. The great migration was just beginning and we were lucky to witness that. The food in all the lodges was amazing and the land cruiser was so comfortable. Meektrails even upgraded our stay for the last 3 nights as the trip was a special occasion of our Mom’s birthday. Such a sweet gesture from them. I recently returned from a 8 day safari trip in Kenya with my family and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It was a girl’s trip with my mom and sister and I want to highlight the fact that we always felt safe. We visited Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru National Park and finally Maasai Mara. We were lucky enough to witness the Big Five. We also spotted prides of lions, cheetah hunting its prey and elephants crossing our path at sunset. Our guide George was fun-loving, sweet and extremely knowledgeable & passionate in not only pointing out the animals, but also sharing interesting facts about the animals, birds, and local culture. He also helped to locate animals which we wouldn’t have expected to see like hyenas, rhinos, warthogs, jackal, marabou stork and dik dik. He was always patient and would wait as long as we wanted to once we spotted an animal or bird. The accommodations were very good — comfortable, clean, and often right in the heart of nature. Sleeping to the sounds of hyenas at night was surreal (also safe as there were guards patrolling the area all night). We also had the chance to visit a local Maasai village, which was a humbling experience. The walking safari in Crescent island where we walked close to the zebras, giraffes and wildebeest was another wild experience. I want to thank Meektrails Safaris for this memorable experience which will last for a lifetime. And I would recommend requesting George as your guide the next time you choose to visit Kenya with Meektrails.

This was our first time in Kenya and in Africa, and we had the best memories ever from this trip! We booked a 7-day safari with MeekTrails and were guided by Ben — he was absolutely amazing. We were lucky to witness the wildebeest migration at the Sand River crossing in Maasai Mara, see all of the Big Five, and even a pride of lions eating a buffalo! Charles was very responsive and helpful when we were organizing the trip and bookingsx designing an itinerary that would suit our need. Lukas, our guide, was very knowledgeable and gave plenty of information as we were visiting. Car used for the safari was comfortable, very clean and well maintained. As for the budget, they are much more reasonable than other safari tour. Lodges were comfortable and good food was served. I would chose them again and recommend them to my friends!

After a year of planning we finally landed in Kenya for my first Safari trip which turned out to be the most unique and amazing trip I’ve ever had! The company was very responsive with our questions and provided detailed information and itinerary. From the first morning pick-up at the hotel to the last day drop-off in the airport we experienced the company’s professional services by the staff especially our guide/driver Wawero Phillips. One of our luggages got lost by the airline, on the third day when we left Amboseli for Lake Navasha, Phillips drove us pre-dawn to avoid the potential risks from the area’s protest event and stopped by the airport helping us to pick up the delayed luggage. During the 9-day safari tour, Phillips used his wide knowledge, enthusiasm and sense of humour to make our trip so fulfilling leaving us numerous unforgettable memories. When he noticed that we were a little disappointed not able to see the cheetah and leopard after the first few days, he offered us a 5am early morning game drive to increase the chances to see more animals. It turned out to be an extremely worthwhile decision. Not only we saw active lions at the close distance in multiple areas and many other animals but also we watched beautiful sunrise with giraffes in Lake Nakuru which was a picture perfect for me. We eventually watched two cheetahs walking right towards our jeep in Masai Mara later. Phillips also cleaned up the jeep and made sure we got new water bottles every day. He was always there if we had any concerns about meals, washroom service, safety tips and local cultures. Although we saw every animal we wanted to see except for the leopard, we have no regret because we will leave it next time to see them! This trip has left us million enjoyable moments, the animals, the landscape, the people. See you next time, leopard, see you Africa!

From pick up to drop off was an EXPERIENCE! Our driving Habil was so knowledgeable and showed us the ins and outs of every park and place we went to. He answered our every question and took excellent care of us from rest stops to our million questions about the animals. He is so familiar with the park we were able to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and much more! We saw things we didn’t even know we wanted to see! On our 5 day safari we took over 1,000 photos of the most incredible views and animals. Cannot wait to come back in 2027!!

For the past five years, I had dreamed of visiting Kenya to see my favourite big cats in the wild—especially in the iconic Masai Mara. He made extra effort to take us to see all the animals - even driving out of one gate of Massai Mara and through another to see a cheetah! We have just had the most amazing week in Kenya, visiting animals in Masia Mara, Nukuru, Naivasha and Amboselli. My initial contact with Peris (tour consultant) made me choose Meektrails over other companies I inquired with. Throughout the months leading up to my trip Peris was always approachable, responsive and offered advice/tips but leaving any decisions to me. I can’t rate this experience with MeekTrails highly enough. I am very picky about tours because I like to design my own travel and don’t like being on someone else’s schedule. I had been to Kenya before, but never on safari, and I was concerned it would be a line of jeeps surrounding one exhausted animal. I was skeptical of the tour of the Maasai village, feeling like it could be kitschy or exploitative, and I was concerned about price. I’ve traveled to 32 countries and Meektrails is the best value for money experience I’ve ever had. Joseph, our guide, was brilliant, kind, thoughtful, patient and felt more like a friend than a guide by the end of our tour. One of the highlight memories was having nyama choma and ugali, the national dishes of Kenya, at a casual roadside stop, washed down with Tusker beer, while chatting about politics, animals, and all things Kenyan. We could not believe how many animals we saw in a single day, every animal I could have dreamed of, and we never felt rushed or exhausted. We had a picnic out in the middle of the Maasai Mara that felt like a dream - the food was delicious, we sat under an old tree identical to those we’d seen lions sit under, and the breeze rustled past us as we took in the incredible landscape. We got to move and rest at our own pace the entire time. Throughout the experience, the staff, especially Michael, Diana, Tom, were consummate professionals and unfailingly cheerful and accommodating. The best moment of the trip was when 40 staff at the beautiful campsite we stayed in celebrated my birthday, taking such care in so many small ways and truly making me feel like I was at a party with family despite being out on the road. 11/10. Book - you won’t regret it. This was one of the most magical (and wildly inexpensive!!) experiences of my life.

This is our first time to Kenya. We were so lucky to have chosen Meektrails SafariS for it made our 10-day trip a rousing success, smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. It was an amazing 11 days safaris adventures with James Mungai as our driver guide. He was knowledgeable, very professional, patient and accommodating. With him we felt safe throughout our journey. Moreover, our group of 6 paxs learnt a lot from James about animals and safaris. Valentine, our trip consultant was very helpful in crafting the customised routes for our group making it not too rushing senior citizens. Kudos to Meektrails team for this wonderful experience.
