Extended Family Safari With Experienced Professionals
Our three-generation family group started planning our Kenya safari a year ago. Thank goodness we found Meektrails Safari Tours. They were fantastic throughout the process, handled every detail and provided wonderful guides. We were a large party of 16 ranging in ages from 80 to 8 and they helped us design a Safari experience across three parks over 9 days and it was amazing. My family drove with Joseph and James and they were excellent, knowledgeable, and funny. We felt safe and well taken care of the entire trip. The back office did great work securing our bookings, in-country plane tickets, and transfers. It was a seamless process. They helped us identify some unusual activities to do while we were there as well, including dinner reservations and stops along our travels. Our vehicles were very nice, well-equipped, and relatively new. I would highly recommend Meektrails as your outfitter for any Kenya Safari trip.
Amazing, unforgettable and so much fun
From the start of the planning with Charles to the 10 day safari with Gideon as our guide, it was a truly amazing and unforgettable trip. I never imagined that I would see as many animals as I did. They were magnificent!!! Gideon kept us safe and he had a great sense of humor. He was always looking out for showing us the best time we could have. I already miss his smiling face. Any group who is lucky enough to have him as their guide will be pleased. ❤️
Three generational family trip which was spell bindingly amazing
We had worked remotely with Valentine to design a three generational family experience during our 10 day stay in Kenya. We were to spend time in the Masai Mara, north conservancy and then fly to Amboseli. From to start to finish we were made to feel welcome and was treated like family by all the team. Our main driver was Anthony. He was superb and knowledgable. Jane’s meet us in Amboseli and again was fantastic. There was a hiccup in the north conservancy which Daniel handled to perfection. Thank you! Our final day was the icing on the cake we were taken to Nairobi National Park where we saw Rhinos completing the big five! Followed by Sheldrick orphanage amazing!!! We then went to feed the giraffes my personal dream come true ❤️All our accommodation was fabulous as was the service we received. We were truly blown away. One again thank you to Daniel and his amazing team
Wonderful Safari!
My friend (and constant travel companion) and I just finished our 14 day safari with Meektrails. Gadson, our safari consultant at Meektrails, was great at answering our myriad of questions via email as we decided everything from the length of the trip to where in Kenya we wanted to go.Once our safari started, George took over as our guide and driver. He not only knows the roads of Kenya better than the back of his hand, but also knows the animals. Any random question about animals, he knows. When it came to the game drives, he always reasonably set our expectations and then over delivered using his instincts and the network of other guides. Every game drive was filled with diverse animal sightings.I highly recommend Meektrails!
Spectacular Safari
I just finished a 14-day safari across Kenya with one of my oldest friends and I highly recommend the experience! We booked with Gadson and he was communicative and clear with us the whole time. We adjusted our trip from the original request and he was very helpful. Everything that was booked for us was top-notch - we didn't have a single complaint about any lodge. We walked away thoroughly impressed by every stay. Our tour guide, George, was phenomenal. He was incredibly personable, immediately making us comfortable and excited to spend 14 days with him. He quickly understood our priorities and temperament, adjusting every experience to what worked best for us. His deep knowledge of the park and great relationships with other guides made our trip full of animal sightings. For example, on our first game drive, George networked with other drivers to find a spot where a lion was allegedly spotted. Realizing that we were two adult women, George determined that we had something a larger group or someone with kids didn't have - patience. We outwaited all the other cars to the point my friend and I were getting skeptical (but the view of an amboseli sunset with Kilimanjaro in the background made it a very pleasant wait). In the end, we were definitely rewarded as a mother lion with two cubs walked out of their hiding spot once it got cold enough - just like George had predicted. After that, we knew to just trust George. And it paid off. Not only did we see the big five and the Samburu five (and cheetahs), we also had well-timed late starts/relaxing evenings/wash room breaks/meals, etc - This trip may have been my most seamless travel experience! My main recommendations are definitely get a jeep and trust in your guide (if they are as good as George).
Unbelievable experience
Our family of eight travelled from Ireland to Kenya for a 7 day safari with Meektrails Safari, and from start to finish, the experience was absolutely incredible.A special thank you to Esther, who helped us plan the perfect itinerary. Every detail was organised seamlessly, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the adventure. During our trip, we stayed at several wonderful locations, including Sopa Lodge in Amboseli, Avian Court at Lake Naivasha, Ziwa Bush Lodge near Lake Nakuru, and Zebra Valley in the Maasai Mara. From the moment we arrived in Nairobi, we were looked after exceptionally well. Our guide, James, met us at the airport and was outstanding throughout the entire trip. He was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best safari experience possible. His knowledge of the wildlife, parks, and local culture was second to none, and he was always happy to answer our many questions. Thanks to James, we were able to see everything we had hoped for and more. This was our family’s first safari, but it certainly won’t be our last. Kenya exceeded all our expectations. The wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality of the Kenyan people have left a lasting impression on all of us. We have made memories that we will cherish forever. There were so many highlights, lunch in the Maasai Mara, a cycling safari through Hell’s Gate National Park, spotting wildlife at Lake Nakuru, a hippo cruise on Lake Naivasha, and a magical sunrise hot-air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara followed by breakfast in the bush to name a few.Thank you to everyone at Meektrails Safari, especially Esther and James, for making our dream safari a reality. If you’re considering booking a safari with Meektrails, do not hesitate, you won’t be disappointed. We are so sad to leave, but it’s not goodbye, it’s tutaonana baadaye, see you later.
Liar Company No sense of contractual integrity—promised a refund, yet 20 days have passed without any refund.
Such an amazing adventure. We visited 3 parks in 8 days. Each park was amazing in it's own special way. The difference maker was our guide Onesmus! He was AMAZING. His knowledge of the areas, animals and plants was incredible. We visited Amboseli NP, Ol Pejeta Conservancy and Samburu National Reserve. My wife and I took a private tour and it was worth the extra expense. Onesmus would stop and look at anything we wanted to see. (even small birds). He took us to see so many amazing animals. We had the time of our life! Thank you to William and Daniel as well for amazing customer service and professional communication thru the entire process. I can't recommend Meektrails enough.
We had the best time, once in a lifetime trip for a family of 4 with a 16 and 12 year old in tow. Got to see all that we could have wished to on our 7 day safari from Amboseli to Masai Mara.
Wow! Well done Meektrails and our INCREDIBLE guide Philip. 8 day safari (Amboseli, Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara) with airport transfers through Meektrails. The head office, Ester and Daniel, were excellent. Very accommodating and personalised a safari for our budget. Even some nice honeymoon touches. We chose slightly more budget, so we had (beautiful) accommodation just outside the parks (max 15 mins extra drive in morning, but you actually got to see more local culture and safari this way). All the hotels are vetted in person by Meektrails, so all of a great standard (we’ve stayed in the ritz-Carlton down to a garden shed). Amazing food, we ate everything on offer, zero tummy isssues. Very clean and fresh! We are British, and were reluctant to send a lot of Monday to a different country, thankfully, Meektrails accepted an online deposit and proof of flights as our intention to book, and we paid the rest when we arrived (on reflection - not needed - legitimate reliable company). Our guide, Philip, really made our holiday. Extremely knowledgable, saw the big 5 and so much more. He worked hard to get all the best vantage points for photos - lovely lovely guy. He accommodated everything we needed. Stopped whenever we wanted to stop (on the safari drives and transfers). Very friendly. Organized everything from breakfast/lunch/dinner, visits to Masai village visits, nice places to stop for food and a stretch between the reserves, optimum safari routes - Faultless.Like any safari trip with any safari company, always check your selected hotels, vehicles and travel times so you know what to expect. The negative reviews for Meektrails were down to people not understanding their booking vs their budget. We are exceptionally happy. Thanks a million!!Marty and Isabell
We had the pleasure to travel around Kenya, on an amazing safari being accompanied by a professional and skilful guide and driver - Peter. Daniel was really helpful and offered prompt replies to any question we had. Highly recommend for a memorable holiday!! 😊
