Our 7-day safari with Meektrails Safaris and guide Phillip was spectacular! My daughter and I saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, lion cubs, hyenas, buffalos, hippos, rhinoceros, wildebeests, impalas, a cheetah, a leopard, and so much more. The accommodations at the Sopa Lodges were very nice and several of the properties had animals such as hippos and giraffes on the property. Even though we splurged and chose the Land cruiser option, which I highly recommend, I thought the cost was very fair. The tour and our guide Philip honestly exceeded all my expectations and I would heartily recommend them.
My Kenya trip in January was amazing and I got Perfect weather, Perfect itinerary and Perfect tour operator – Meektrails! We are a group of 5 and we booked a private safari tour to Kenya for 8 days. One travel solo from Ireland and four of us (2 couples) travel from Hong Kong to Kenya. I have been incredibly fortunate to find Meektrails and Charles, the travel agent, is helpful and patient. I started planning my trip in mid-August 2024 and asked many questions and many more for a total of 5 months. Charles is wonderful, he is efficient and service oriented, he able to response to my queries by email and whatsup diligently. Charles understands what I am looking for. Importantly, Charles makes sure I am comfortable to wire the deposit to secure the tour package. It is a big job to do payment for all 5 of us by bank transfer from Hong Kong and we did pay for the entire tour cost a week before we departure to Kenya. Charles acknowledges receipt of our payment promptly and the whole process is handled professionally, and I am very happy with his assistance. Besides Charles, we also have a fantastic tour guide: Bernard Muiru, he is an experienced professional safari guide, and he knows where to go and to ensure we able to view all these beautiful animals. Bernard especially acknowledgeable to birds, and we learnt so much from him. I can assure you that a good guide is very essential! We’re lucky to have Bernard and within the first 2 days of our Kenya visit, we had already seen the Big Five. Big thanks to Bernard’s effort and hard work! We visited the following parks: Tsavo West National Park, Amboseli National, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Naivasha and the popular Masai Mara National reserve. Well, for me the true remarkable time was when we see the African wild dogs! The wild dog has been listed as endangered on the IUCN Red list since 1990, and they may consist of fewer than 250 dogs on planet earth, but we saw more than 10 of them happily resting under the brushes. The Game-drives are a comfortable safari activity. We explore parks and game reserves by riding a 4x4 Landcruiser vehicle with a pop-up roof. Our tour guide/driver will come with us to drive for several hours in search of wildlife. We were able to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras or any wildlife, you will stop to see them and/or take photos from inside your vehicle or through the pop-up roof. We also got to sit under a tree to have a picnic in the middle of the park and for me, being a city girl, the feeling of being able to be with true nature is hard to describe. The Kenya safari vacation is a great lifetime experience. This trip gave me a wide spectrum of how free wildlife can be lived. I highly recommend traveler to go to Kenya and see for yourself, the gorgeous sunlight shinning on the tall grass in safari. At home in Hong Kong, seeing all the beautiful pictures I took, the great memories I have of this Kenya trip is making me smile.

Planning a two-week safari is a aunting task especially when you want to experience and “see” as much as you can. We needed someone who have the resources and the patience to manage our needs. Meektrails stood out right away as they took their time to understand our needs, at the same time advising and making alternative suggestions, in order to make the itinerary more feasible during the time we had. Whilst other companies provided us with various options, most of their proposals seemed “canned” and were not as flexible in changing the itinerary nor the available accommodations. We wanted a range of activities and a varied choice on accommodations. On both ends, Meektrails DELLIVERED!!They provided us with a wide range of choices in accommodations, from luxurious lodges and tented camps to authentic camps in the reserves. It was a surreal experience having the thrill of camping in the open park at the same time being pampered in luxurious settings.We went on some of the best parks that Kenya and Tanzania had to over – Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. The vehicle used was always clean and great condition. The guides were professional and very knowledgeable not only about the wildlife but also about the culture and history.Aside from the majestic game drives, we were able to go on a boat safari, a walking safari, and a bike safari – all wonderful additions to the adventure! We also had a magical experience visiting an authentic Masai village and got to meet and learn more about their rich and vibrant culture and community. In Tanzania, we visited a local market in Arusha (we were one of only a handful of tourists). Again, it was such a fulfilling experience to meet and learn about the local culture! Our holiday ended with a relaxing 3 days on the beach in Zanzibar!Meektrails worked well with their counterparts in Tanzania and Zanzibar. They were professional, authentic, and genuine - regularly checking in on us to make sure everything was going well. It was comforting to know that we were on their watch during the entire holiday! They showed flexibility and quick action to accommodate us. Two examples come to mind: • Our flight from Zanzibar back to Nairobi was changed by the airline without informing us nor Meektrails (apparently not unusual for this airline). Meektrails went to work immediately (already late evening) and got us on another flight. Since the flight was much earlier than the original, we had 18 hours in Nairobi before our flight back home. For this, they provided us with a room in a fabulous hotel near the airport!! • Our car got stuck on the way to the airport. Within 20 minutes, a replacement car came to pick up and continue the journey. All this at 2:30 in the morning in Zanzibar!We highy recommended Meektrails for your next Safari to Kenya and Tanzania!! They are professional, flexible and accommodating, genuine and authentic!!
We had a fantastic 10 day safari with Meektrails. Amboseli, Ol Pejeta, Samburu, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and finished off in the Masai Mara. The whole process was very organised and slick from start to finish, from the initial contact and booking through the pickup drop off and safari itself. Accommodation was a really high standard and we had a dedicated vehicle and guide just for the two of us. Our guide Joseph was absolutely brilliant, would definitely recommend him. Saw everything we would possibly hope to see, lions, leopards, cheetahs etc. We are both birdwatchers and Joseph was very knowledgeable and happy to tailor the game drives to what we were interested in. It was our first ever safari and we struggled to pick a company, but we are so glad we went with Meektrails, a good competitive price and a great experience.
We had a fantastic experience with Meektrails. Our 7 nights/8 days safari tour was very well organised, and our guide Peter went above and beyond to make sure we saw as many animals as possible and had an exciting adventure in Kenya. We visited Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara and the itinerary was a great mix of game drives and other activities (e.g. cycling, walking, and boat tours). We went for mid-range accommodation, and all lodges were beautiful, clean, and with all amenities for a comfortable stay.From start to finish, Meektrails were incredibly professional, responsive and attentive. I shouldn’t even give 1 star for such a terrible experience in booking a safari with them.We asked for 6N/7D in June 2025 . I went for negotiating based on their exorbitant rates . Their staff discussed with their boss and quoted 1250 dollars just 2 days before for group of 3 with mara maisha(3N) , avion court hotel (1N) at naivasha and Kibo safari (2N) at amboselli including giraffe Center at nairobi and geo spa.Considering this as a good deal, we planned to book our flights from Germany . But today they say there is a system error and actual price is 2300 dollars pp for group of 3 .If the guy has just checked in system and gave me the price 2 days before, I would have considered their reason.But after discussing with his boss several times, he quoted the price for 1250 dollars and today he changed to 2300$ .I seriously wonder how his boss is able to give acceptance for 1250 dollars 2 days before and now his staff says that was a system error. What kinda company they are running ?Please don’t believe this safari operator since they are not delivering safari operator.They will say they will deliver best experience in safari . But in the end they cheat is like this .The whole Sunday is being spoiled for us because of these guys .

I can’t even begin to explain the amazing experience we had with Meektrails! From booking to the end of the safari, everything was taken care of. They were accommodating, responsive and overall such a kind group of people! We had the best private tour with them and our guide was Gideon. Gideon was so patient, kind and knowledgeable! He made sure we got our photography shots!! There is nothing to worry about during our safari adventure because all things were taken care of. We visited Amboseli, Navaisha, Nakuru and Masai Mara in 6 days. We also enjoyed our hot air balloon ride with Balloon Safari. MUST do. We had an amazing breakfast inside Masai Mara. One of the most satisfying Safari experiences for my wife and me both senior citizens. MT staff took so good care of us organised special events for my wife's 60th birthday and our anniversary. We not only saw the big 5 but so many more animals and birds with picturesque views of sunrise and sunset with Mt. Kilimanjaro with snow peak in background Food was very good even for vegetarians with MT staff taking great care of you culinary needs and your food allergiesPauline was the standout person answering to all our stupid questions promptly at all odd hours and charting a memorable trip. Wilson our guide cum driver could practically "smell" animals out and gave us a wonderful gaming experience. Entire crew deserves Kudos
We met Bernard Njinu after a short night at our hotel outside Nairobi with his 6 seater jeep in wonderful condition. We started our 1300 km road trip with a long drive south to the Ambosseli National Park on the foot of the majestic Kilimanjaro. Bernard has been doing this job for decades. He is a brilliant driver and knows exactly when to speak. He is super resourceful and educated. In Ambosseli he found us brilliant sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs, endless elephants, wildebeests, zebras and more. From Ambosseli we travelled north west to Lake Navaisha where back in 1985 the then blockbuster movie „Out of Africq“ was filmed. At that time many animals where place on its shores who continue to live there in generations that followed. This allowed us to do a walking tour as well as a boat trip to see hordes of hippos and birdlife. The following morning we did a bike ride into a valley of high served as an inspiration to the Lion King before starting our journey to the Massai Mara Reserve outside the Serengeti. Visiting a Massai village with dance, style of living, fire making and local memorabilia which serves as an income for the village. Thanks to his patience we saw the big cats again in various constellations. We spent 2 nights at the Mara Maisha a beautiful camp which we highly recommend. From there we drove to the Kenia/Tanzania border where Bernard handed us over the his colleague from Serengeti Clarity (see separate report). We recommend Bernard highly, would give him 10 stars if we could!
My daughter and I just finished an 8 day safari trip with Meektrails to Amboseli Park, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara Park and Lake Nakuru. Esther helped us plan the trip and was very responsive to our questions. Anthony, our driver and guide was great - friendly, professional, so experienced! He knew where to go to spot animals, explained things, and answered questions, stopped for photos. He was an excellent driver and we felt very safe in his hands. The time flew by and was suddenly over!! Our favourite hotel was the Sarova Game Camp in Masai Mara. All the hotels helped us with our gluten free dairy free diet. Absolutely no problem there. Delicious food at all the hotels. I highly recommend Meektrails!
Amazing time in Kenya thanks to our fabulous guide Anthony, Eliud's organisation and all the Meektrails team. We visited Amboseli, Lake Naivashe, Lake Nakuru, and Massi Mara, 3 Sopa Lodges and Royal Zebra in Masai and all were great locations, good food and great facilities. Saw different animals/scenery at each place, and the tour was well organised with Tony making each place so interesting with his knowledge and conversation. Even the long journeys were good as he told us about the people, and facts about each area we drove through. Would recommend them completely and hope we will be lucky enough to go back one day. Loved every minute!!
I have had the good fortune to have travelled to many countries and joined many tours and also enjoyed several safaris.Our tour with Meekstrails safaris was over nine days during which time we must have covered 2,500 KMs , traversing across Kenya and visiting Tsavo West and Amboselli National Parks in the south of the country, up to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Naivasha in the north and finally, three days in the Masai Mara National Reserve.There were five of us in the truck, all seasoned travellers.We saw all of the big 5, on one day viewing 26 lions in 4 separate sightings, including a post kill of a cape buffalo with the male head of the herd guarding the carcass and the cubs and lionesses sleeping under a nearby bush. We also saw a leopard at night, cheetah walking right past our truck, the protected rhino at Ol Pejeta, herds of hippo, and a sea eagle on a boat trip. We also had a cycle and hike at Hell’s Gate and joined in a fertility dance with the males of a tribe in the Masai Mara, where apparently the higher you can jump determines how many wives once is allowed to have – I could not jump very high and will have to stick with the one I have got.Our trip was made the more memorable through the care and attention to detail of our guide and driver, Bernard Njinu. He showed how incredibly knowledgeable he is of the Kenyan wildlife, birds and trees. He also shared with us interesting facets of the local economy, different tribes and the way of life in Kenya. He joined in the banter whilst he was driving, with the rest of us in the back of the truck. His passion for the wildlife in Kenya and for his job shown through.We were all incredibly grateful that we had Bernard as our guide and he made our trip truly memorable. We could not rate Bernard and Meekstrails highly enough, their service levels are world class and both Bernard and the company go out of their way to ensure that their guests have a great time, whilst ensuring a high level of safety.If you are contemplating a safari holiday in Africa, you would be hard pressed to find a better company than Meekstrails Safaris and a better guide than Bernard Nijnu.

Just finished a 3 night safari with Meektrails and cannot recommend them enough. Our guide was George who was knowledgable of the people, places and animals we saw and always had a funny story! We spent our first night in Ziwa Bush Lodge which was remote but amazing. The following two nights we stayed at Mtito Safari Camp which was incredible. I have never stayed somewhere that was both in the middle of nowhere and in a tent but with fantastic facilities and impeccable service!During the days, we went to several national parks and reservations as well as a Masai village.Overall, the trip was fantastically organised, excellent day trips and the night time food and accommodation were fantastic and George our guide was the highlight of the trip!
The safari was fantastic - from the communication throughout the booking process through the actual trip. George, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the animals and birds we saw and had so many interesting stories. I learned a lot about Kenya and can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed the trip. It was brilliant. We felt so well taken care of. The accommodation was very comfortable and bit remote - we felt like we were steeped in the nature experience. Loved everything about it. If we ever get a chance to come back or if asked for a recommendation, will definitely book with Meektrails and ask for George !
We booked a 5 days safari and we had the best time. Peris was great for help us to plan the perfect trip and was extremely helpful with everything, from adapting the trip to our needs to even book a train ticket on our behalf. Anthony, our driver and guide for the entirety of the trip was amazing. His knowledge and expertise were impressive and we learned so much. I really wanted to see lion cubs and he made sure we’d find them. He almost had a sixth sense of where the animals would be and where they’d go. We’ve seen 4 or the big 5 (no leopards in sight!) and so many other animals. We’ve seen so many baby animals. I 100% recommend them for your safari.

We traveled to Kenya in February with a group of friends and had an amazing safari experience. Initially, I reached out to Meektrails via Booking Safari, and they proposed a 7-day safari for us. Additionally, since we wanted to relax for a few extra days by the Indian Ocean, they organized a train journey to Mombasa and booked a fantastic hotel by the sea.Peris, the manager, did an excellent job. She listened carefully to all our preferences and created the perfect itinerary for us. She responded promptly and with great kindness throughout the planning process. They also took care of all the transfers to and from the hotels before and after the safari, making the whole experience seamless and stress-free.Josef, our driver and guide, was wonderful. He is a highly professional person who accompanied us throughout the trip and took care of everything. He drove safely, always finding the best spots for photos, and patiently waited for the animals to appear.All my concerns about safety and service during the safari were completely unnecessary, as all the lodges were in fantastic locations with excellent service. The food was also top-notch.
Paul was excellent in planning the trip and also very supportive and providing all the required documentation for our Visa. He has been very patient in resolving all the queries and the doubts we were having prior to the trip. Secondly, Sam our driver and guide for the seven days provided us with some wonderful memories to cherish for life. He too has been very patient and helpful in making the journey and the stay pleasant and comfortable . Overall, I would strongly recommend Meektrails for the Kenyan experience.
This was a trip of a lifetime with Meektrails. We saw every possible animal I could imagine and I was also very impressed with the hundreds of birds we saw. I would say this would be a birders Paradise . All of our accommodations were upscale, and the food was fantastic. But by far our best experience was with our guide Joseph. Not only was he a wonderful, kind human being, but I’ve never met anybody so knowledgeable about animals and birds and their behavior. He was always so upbeat and positive and made our trip so much fun.

We had the absolute BEST safari experience with Meektrails. We visited Nairobi National Park, Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara. George was our tour guide and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He was welcoming, upbeat, funny and so incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals we encountered. He knew where to find the big cats that hide and always made sure we were able to see them well. We saw the Big Five and so much more. George was patient and kind with our two children (7 and 9) and that made the trip so much less stressful.In terms of planning, Pauline was kind, patient, and responsive. She answered all questions and it was lovely for her to come meet us in person and see us off! We had a great time on our Safari. The accomodations chosen by meek trail were really nice. We had always good food and clean rooms. Our guide Philipp made the Safari really special and he managed to present us all of the Big 5. On top, we had a lot of fun on our journey and learnt a lot about Kenya and his wild life. My husband and I booked a ten-day private tour which included Amboseli National Park, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Samburu National Reserve, Lake Navasha, Hell´s Gate National Park and Masai Mara National park. The tour was incredible! Each protected area is unique and we enjoyed the diversity of Kenyan landscapes.We were lucky to have Lukas as our guide/driver who is very friendly and professional. Lukas is well organized but also flexible, there were no misunderstandings or uncomfortable situations at all. It was all perfect. He showed us a lot of wild animals and explained about them. We saw not only the big five, but many different species of antelopes, monkeys and baboons, beautiful birds and many more! We really enjoyed watching animals in their natural habitats. The experiences we made during the tour were beyond our expectation.Unfortunately, our flight back home was cancelled and we were obliged to stay two days longer in Kenya. But our friendly tour coordinator Esther quickly arranged an additional two-day tour for us. On the first day we walked in the canyon in the Hell´s Gate National Park which was geologically very interesting. On the second day we climbed Mt. Longonot. That was quite challenging for us but became an unforgettable experience.Communication with Esther was always smooth. All the lodges we stayed were comfortable and the food was good.We are very happy we booked our safari tour with Meektrails Safari. And we would love to have Lukas as our guide next time as well.

She tailored every detail, answered queries instantly, and even upgraded our Mara lodge! Her dedication made us feel like VIPs.Driver **John** was a gem—punctual, witty, and eagle-eyed. He tracked lions effortlessly and explained animal behaviors with infectious enthusiasm. Long drives flew by thanks to his stories and sharp spotting skills!
It was most memorable trip for us, very well organized by Esther where she made sure everything was included in the trip. Our guide Mr.James was so nice from time he picked us till he dropped us to airport, we had a great time in Safari where we could spot most of the wild life very closely. Our safari package was absolutely unforgettable! We saw many animals and our guide Sammy Wild was exceptional, knowledgeable, friendly, and great at spotting wildlife. Our hotels were all beautiful and comfortable, with excellent food and stunning views. The highlight was the hot air balloon ride at sunrise, offering breathtaking views of the savannahs and wildlife below. The entire experience was well-organized, and I appreciated the emphasis on conservation efforts. I highly recommend this safari for anyone looking for an authentic and thrilling wildlife adventure! We had a wonderful and seamless safari experience with Meektrails. From the start William was so accommodating to all our requests the communication on his end was always very clear and he even organised a surprise cake for us on our anniversary at one of the hotels we stayed in. I would say the tour was a bit too pricey per person but Meektrails was quite reliable and their service was spot on, Our guide was Marcy a female guide in Kenya which is quite rare, she was superwoman! Her knowledge and love for animals was quite visible and her tenacity to show us the big 5 + other animals and her love and passion for the job was amazing. She really took care of us on our whole tour and was very patient with us. Kudos and thank you to both William and Marcy. We will definitely be booking our next safari trip with Meektrails again.
We had a fantastic 6-day safari in Kenya with Meektrails. The entire experience was incredible! Before the trip, our tour consultant William was always ready to answer our multiple questions and doubts. For the Safari, we had the company of the best possible driver/guide ever, Antony Macharia! With the eyesight of an eagle, he could spot wild animals miles away and take us as close to the action as possible (and safe). We had the trip of a lifetime and we will never forget it. A top level experience! When we first decided we wanted to go to Kenya, we had limited information and knowledge about Safari's. We therefore contacted multiple companies requesting quotes and itineraries. The one company that stood out above the rest were Meektrails. Our tour consulant (Peris) gave us timely and affordable quotes, straight to the point. Many other companies tried to negotiate a much higher price for the same itinerary and same hotels. Also, Peris was able to customise our safari schedule the way we wanted. We changed our schedule multiple times, and it was never an issue for meektrail.During the safari, we definitely had the most amazing safari expert, James. He had an incredible amount of knowledge, we was able to guide us to the best spots of the parks. He made the experience, more than just seeing animals. He was able to explain each detail of the animals behaviour patterns, diets, age, hunting methods. I can definitely see him being on National Geography channel in the future. The experience wouldnt have been the same if it were not for James.Finally, all the safari hotels that Meektrails had us stay were perfect, great quality and exceptional service. Will definitely be booking meektrail in the future, and reccomending meektrail to family and friends.

George was our guide. He maintained a professional approach and relationship with us yet he felt like my brother when we were done. He was always clear about his expetations ( meeting times and places etc). He checked frequently with us to make sure we were getting the experience we wanted. And he delivered. We asked a million questions about animals,plants, and culture. George is a fountain of information and was never stumped. I will cherish the memories of my time with George.
We have a wonderful private safari tour from Masai Mara to Nakuru Naivasha, and then Amboseli. Its proper arranged, comfortable and worthy to its price. Our guide Philip is very professional and full of humor. He is good at wild animal knowledge and also very good at searching animals in parks, he always trying to drive us to the best photo point. And we may have long road trip sometime, but it will never be dull with Philip. Our booking consultant William is also very professional and helpful. Our safari with Meektrails exceeded all the expectations. It was the most magical experience, a real childhood dream comes true type of adventure. The people behind Meektrails are beyond amazing, helpful and friendly, Charles was incredibly attentive, he helped with everything and answered every questions i had. Our driver Francis is the sweetest person, he went above and beyond to make sure we see every animal. His knowledge about the animals is amazing, he knows everything, from the name of smallest bird to things like what an elephant will do next, just from a look at it. We felt safe with him on the muddy roads of the national parks and the chaotic roads between the parks as well. He’s working as a safari tour guide for 18 years and he gives you all his experience to make your trip the best it can be. The lodges, that the company booked for us, were fantastic too. Clean rooms, friendly people, nice food, and there’s nothing like hearing a hyena in the middle of the night or drinking a nice cocktail and looking at the zebras basically in the garden. I can’t recommend Meektrails enough!

My wife and I booked a five day tour that included Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara. The entire process from the beginning was seamless. Meektrails helped plan a customised tour with lots of flexibility on the accomodation and itinerary to suit our preferences. Peris was extremely knowledgeable, responsive and authentically caring about making our experience amazing! Our pickup in Nairobi was also made easy with a number of the Meektrails team welcoming us.Ben was our guide/driver and he was absolutely incredible throughout the safari! He communicated different options/timing of activities plus was always early and very prepared. His knowledge and insights on all the animals was excellent. It also felt like he constantly knew the best place to spot all the animals on game drives with us often seeing them first, before he let other guides know, resulting in us getting up very close to them. We simply loved spending time with him learning more about Kenya and his personal experiences.The 4x4 was super spacious and comfortable with all the amenities (chargers, binoculars, fridge). All our accomodations were also great with well equipped rooms, delicious food and unique experiences staying so close to the animals.A massive thank you to Ben, Peris and the Meektrails team for a once in a lifetime experience! We had great time during our 9 days safari with out excellent driver Mr James Waisha who is so dedicated doing his job in order to make sure we all saw the big 5. James is punctual on time management , never had a nap during his task and fluent in English. That make easier for us in communication.
