I have had the good fortune to have travelled to many countries and joined many tours and also enjoyed several safaris.Our tour with Meekstrails safaris was over nine days during which time we must have covered 2,500 KMs , traversing across Kenya and visiting Tsavo West and Amboselli National Parks in the south of the country, up to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Naivasha in the north and finally, three days in the Masai Mara National Reserve.There were five of us in the truck, all seasoned travellers.We saw all of the big 5, on one day viewing 26 lions in 4 separate sightings, including a post kill of a cape buffalo with the male head of the herd guarding the carcass and the cubs and lionesses sleeping under a nearby bush. We also saw a leopard at night, cheetah walking right past our truck, the protected rhino at Ol Pejeta, herds of hippo, and a sea eagle on a boat trip. We also had a cycle and hike at Hell’s Gate and joined in a fertility dance with the males of a tribe in the Masai Mara, where apparently the higher you can jump determines how many wives once is allowed to have – I could not jump very high and will have to stick with the one I have got.Our trip was made the more memorable through the care and attention to detail of our guide and driver, Bernard Njinu. He showed how incredibly knowledgeable he is of the Kenyan wildlife, birds and trees. He also shared with us interesting facets of the local economy, different tribes and the way of life in Kenya. He joined in the banter whilst he was driving, with the rest of us in the back of the truck. His passion for the wildlife in Kenya and for his job shown through.We were all incredibly grateful that we had Bernard as our guide and he made our trip truly memorable. We could not rate Bernard and Meekstrails highly enough, their service levels are world class and both Bernard and the company go out of their way to ensure that their guests have a great time, whilst ensuring a high level of safety.If you are contemplating a safari holiday in Africa, you would be hard pressed to find a better company than Meekstrails Safaris and a better guide than Bernard Nijnu.

It was an amazing experience made even better with Meektrails . They took care of all accommodations as well as the pick up and drop off to the airport making us feel entirely welcome and safe . Paul was the main person we could contact for all queries and very helpful. Sam our driver was excellent with a wealth of knowledge regarding the animals in the safari and his passion to showing us the animals in the forest was indeed worth mentioning. Just finished a 3 night safari with Meektrails and cannot recommend them enough. Our guide was George who was knowledgable of the people, places and animals we saw and always had a funny story! We spent our first night in Ziwa Bush Lodge which was remote but amazing. The following two nights we stayed at Mtito Safari Camp which was incredible. I have never stayed somewhere that was both in the middle of nowhere and in a tent but with fantastic facilities and impeccable service!During the days, we went to several national parks and reservations as well as a Masai village.Overall, the trip was fantastically organised, excellent day trips and the night time food and accommodation were fantastic and George our guide was the highlight of the trip!
The safari was fantastic - from the communication throughout the booking process through the actual trip. George, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the animals and birds we saw and had so many interesting stories. I learned a lot about Kenya and can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed the trip. It was brilliant. We felt so well taken care of. The accommodation was very comfortable and bit remote - we felt like we were steeped in the nature experience. Loved everything about it. If we ever get a chance to come back or if asked for a recommendation, will definitely book with Meektrails and ask for George !
We booked a 5 days safari and we had the best time. Peris was great for help us to plan the perfect trip and was extremely helpful with everything, from adapting the trip to our needs to even book a train ticket on our behalf. Anthony, our driver and guide for the entirety of the trip was amazing. His knowledge and expertise were impressive and we learned so much. I really wanted to see lion cubs and he made sure we’d find them. He almost had a sixth sense of where the animals would be and where they’d go. We’ve seen 4 or the big 5 (no leopards in sight!) and so many other animals. We’ve seen so many baby animals. I 100% recommend them for your safari.

We traveled to Kenya in February with a group of friends and had an amazing safari experience. Initially, I reached out to Meektrails via Booking Safari, and they proposed a 7-day safari for us. Additionally, since we wanted to relax for a few extra days by the Indian Ocean, they organized a train journey to Mombasa and booked a fantastic hotel by the sea.Peris, the manager, did an excellent job. She listened carefully to all our preferences and created the perfect itinerary for us. She responded promptly and with great kindness throughout the planning process. They also took care of all the transfers to and from the hotels before and after the safari, making the whole experience seamless and stress-free.Josef, our driver and guide, was wonderful. He is a highly professional person who accompanied us throughout the trip and took care of everything. He drove safely, always finding the best spots for photos, and patiently waited for the animals to appear.All my concerns about safety and service during the safari were completely unnecessary, as all the lodges were in fantastic locations with excellent service. The food was also top-notch.
Paul was excellent in planning the trip and also very supportive and providing all the required documentation for our Visa. He has been very patient in resolving all the queries and the doubts we were having prior to the trip. Secondly, Sam our driver and guide for the seven days provided us with some wonderful memories to cherish for life. He too has been very patient and helpful in making the journey and the stay pleasant and comfortable . Overall, I would strongly recommend Meektrails for the Kenyan experience.
This was a trip of a lifetime with Meektrails. We saw every possible animal I could imagine and I was also very impressed with the hundreds of birds we saw. I would say this would be a birders Paradise . All of our accommodations were upscale, and the food was fantastic. But by far our best experience was with our guide Joseph. Not only was he a wonderful, kind human being, but I’ve never met anybody so knowledgeable about animals and birds and their behavior. He was always so upbeat and positive and made our trip so much fun.

We had the absolute BEST safari experience with Meektrails. We visited Nairobi National Park, Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara. George was our tour guide and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He was welcoming, upbeat, funny and so incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals we encountered. He knew where to find the big cats that hide and always made sure we were able to see them well. We saw the Big Five and so much more. George was patient and kind with our two children (7 and 9) and that made the trip so much less stressful.In terms of planning, Pauline was kind, patient, and responsive. She answered all questions and it was lovely for her to come meet us in person and see us off! We had a great time on our Safari. The accomodations chosen by meek trail were really nice. We had always good food and clean rooms. Our guide Philipp made the Safari really special and he managed to present us all of the Big 5. On top, we had a lot of fun on our journey and learnt a lot about Kenya and his wild life. My husband and I booked a ten-day private tour which included Amboseli National Park, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Samburu National Reserve, Lake Navasha, Hell´s Gate National Park and Masai Mara National park. The tour was incredible! Each protected area is unique and we enjoyed the diversity of Kenyan landscapes.We were lucky to have Lukas as our guide/driver who is very friendly and professional. Lukas is well organized but also flexible, there were no misunderstandings or uncomfortable situations at all. It was all perfect. He showed us a lot of wild animals and explained about them. We saw not only the big five, but many different species of antelopes, monkeys and baboons, beautiful birds and many more! We really enjoyed watching animals in their natural habitats. The experiences we made during the tour were beyond our expectation.Unfortunately, our flight back home was cancelled and we were obliged to stay two days longer in Kenya. But our friendly tour coordinator Esther quickly arranged an additional two-day tour for us. On the first day we walked in the canyon in the Hell´s Gate National Park which was geologically very interesting. On the second day we climbed Mt. Longonot. That was quite challenging for us but became an unforgettable experience.Communication with Esther was always smooth. All the lodges we stayed were comfortable and the food was good.We are very happy we booked our safari tour with Meektrails Safari. And we would love to have Lukas as our guide next time as well.

It was most memorable trip for us, very well organized by Esther where she made sure everything was included in the trip. Our guide Mr.James was so nice from time he picked us till he dropped us to airport, we had a great time in Safari where we could spot most of the wild life very closely. Our safari package was absolutely unforgettable! We saw many animals and our guide Sammy Wild was exceptional, knowledgeable, friendly, and great at spotting wildlife. Our hotels were all beautiful and comfortable, with excellent food and stunning views. The highlight was the hot air balloon ride at sunrise, offering breathtaking views of the savannahs and wildlife below. We had a wonderful and seamless safari experience with Meektrails. From the start William was so accommodating to all our requests the communication on his end was always very clear and he even organised a surprise cake for us on our anniversary at one of the hotels we stayed in. I would say the tour was a bit too pricey per person but Meektrails was quite reliable and their service was spot on, Our guide was Marcy a female guide in Kenya which is quite rare, she was superwoman! Her knowledge and love for animals was quite visible and her tenacity to show us the big 5 + other animals and her love and passion for the job was amazing. A top level experience! When we first decided we wanted to go to Kenya, we had limited information and knowledge about Safari's. We therefore contacted multiple companies requesting quotes and itineraries. The one company that stood out above the rest were Meektrails. Our tour consulant (Peris) gave us timely and affordable quotes, straight to the point. Many other companies tried to negotiate a much higher price for the same itinerary and same hotels. Also, Peris was able to customise our safari schedule the way we wanted. We changed our schedule multiple times, and it was never an issue for meektrail.During the safari, we definitely had the most amazing safari expert, James. He had an incredible amount of knowledge, we was able to guide us to the best spots of the parks. He made the experience, more than just seeing animals. He was able to explain each detail of the animals behaviour patterns, diets, age, hunting methods. I can definitely see him being on National Geography channel in the future. The experience wouldnt have been the same if it were not for James.Finally, all the safari hotels that Meektrails had us stay were perfect, great quality and exceptional service. George was our guide. He maintained a professional approach and relationship with us yet he felt like my brother when we were done. He was always clear about his expetations ( meeting times and places etc). He checked frequently with us to make sure we were getting the experience we wanted. And he delivered. Our safari with Meektrails exceeded all the expectations. It was the most magical experience, a real childhood dream comes true type of adventure. The people behind Meektrails are beyond amazing, helpful and friendly, Charles was incredibly attentive, he helped with everything and answered every questions i had. Our driver Francis is the sweetest person, he went above and beyond to make sure we see every animal. His knowledge about the animals is amazing, he knows everything, from the name of smallest bird to things like what an elephant will do next, just from a look at it. We felt safe with him on the muddy roads of the national parks and the chaotic roads between the parks as well. He’s working as a safari tour guide for 18 years and he gives you all his experience to make your trip the best it can be. The lodges, that the company booked for us, were fantastic too. Clean rooms, friendly people, nice food, and there’s nothing like hearing a hyena in the middle of the night or drinking a nice cocktail and looking at the zebras basically in the garden. My wife and I booked a five day tour that included Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara. The entire process from the beginning was seamless. We had great time during our 9 days safari with out excellent driver Mr James Waisha who is so dedicated doing his job in order to make sure we all saw the big 5. James is punctual on time management , never had a nap during his task and fluent in English. That make easier for us in communication. My husband and I just did the six day Sopa loop Safari. We were picked up at our hotel in Nairobi and taken to Amboseli then to Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara. All three parks were uniquely beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We stayed 5 nights at three different Sopa lodges and we were very happy with all three lodges and the wonderful service we had there. If we could change one thing we would have liked an extra day on Lake Nakuru. We had one guide named Lucas who was with us every step of the way. Lucas made this experience so nice for us. He made sure he was there every morning at the lodge to pick us up on time. Lucas was very knowledgeable and patient. He went out of his way to make sure we got to see everything and get the perfect picture. He really wanted to make sure we were having the best experience and we were so appreciative. of that. We would love to come back again and bring the rest of the family. Just to be aware we did find out after if you are booking with a credit card it’s a 3.5 % service fee.
Meektrail organized a wonderful 8 days Safari with me, were very good to adapting and changing the itinerary, til it was the perfect tour, including some of the best parks in Kenya and Tanzania. Wonderful choice of camps and lodges, 9 seater new Land Cruiser, just for me. My guide Antony was not only extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife, but also a superb driver, what allowed us to do some stuff, that would not have been possible with a group safari :). I highly recommend them - all staff very friendly, always checking in with me, to secure that I got the most out of it.

We managed to see 9 cheetahs (including one with kill) and too many lions, elephants, etc to count.Valentine at Meektrails was very helpful and quick to reply to any question via email or WhatsApp.You can pay by card through payment link or in person when you arrive. Just be sure to get newly minted USD if using as we had ones that were brand new but minted minted in 2006 and they are useless in Kenya. Easy to pay by card in the end even with 3.5% surcharge.
We had an incredible 10 day safari with George who made our experience unforgettable. We visited Maasai Mara, Naivasha, Samburu, Amboseli, Ol Pajeta and Tsavo East. We saw so many amazing animals and George was very knowledgeable, always sharing information about different species and their habitats. He always made sure we were well looked after and was able to have a good laugh with us. George was amazing at spotting the wildlife from a distance and always managed to get us a great view of animals we came across. Highly recommend.

Incredible 5-day adventure with an extremely experienced, attentive, and professional guide, Sammy, who has 25+ years of experience.We highly appreciated how communicative and efficient MeekTrails was in the booking experience, and especially appreciated how they tailored the trip to our needs, as we added a trip to the elephant orphanage in Nairobi and a hot air balloon ride in the Maasai Mara.Sammy was the best. Experiences, safe guide who took us to all the best viewpoints in the Maasai Mara, and we got incredibly lucky to see 44 lions and 6 cheetahs and countless other animals during the 3 days we spent in the Mara. The other days we went to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, which were also amazing experiences.Sammy had so much knowledge about all the animals that we loved hearing. We were so impressed at his ability to spot rare animals from what seemed like miles away. And he kept us safe by spotting a lion during a lunch picnic in the bush and getting us and a nearby picnic group back into our vehicles :)Thank you MeekTrails for also upgrading us to the Lalashe hotel in the Maasai Mara, which was an absolutely luxurious experience that we won’t forget.Thank you!
Organised a 5-day safari itinerary with Meektrails and it was perfect, had the best time! Sammy our driver was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience amazing and unforgettable.We did Lake Naivasha, Hells Gate, Lake Nakuru & 2-full days of Masai Mara, along with a balloon safari and visit to the elephant orphanage in Nairobi on day 1. The accommodation organised by Meektrails was fantastic, along with the service throughout.Meektrails made a super itinerary for the trip personalised for us, and Sammy our driver really added to the experience with his amazing eyes in the Mara and Lake Nakuru. We saw lots of lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffe and various other animals throughout our experience which was great.Overall a fantastically organised safari and would recommend Meektrails for all interested in Kenya safaris.
Be extremely cautious when booking. Charles was great to deal with and we were very excited for our trip and itinerary. Unfortunately on December 6, 2024 we needed to cancel our trip for January 2025. The contract specifically says “100% refund guarantee if you are unable to make it”.It’s been 5 weeks now of daily/weekly follow up and I have not received a refund. I was told the refund would take 3-7 business days. Ive been told the refund has been processed 4 different times but no money has been returned to me.When I left a google review of my experience (after waiting for a month), I am being harassed daily to take it down. I did inform Daniel that I would be happy to update my review once I see my refund.In lieu of my refund, instead, I am now receiving unprofessional, disrespectful messages from the owner Daniel because I am following up on my refund.Buyer beware.
My family and I visited Kenya for 9 days over the holiday period. Our itinerary included a day in Nairobi, and then the national parks of Amboseli, Naivasha, Elementaita, Nakuru and Masai Mara. Since making initial contact with Meektrails, the process could not have been smoother. Charles built us an itinerary based on our preferences, and quoted for various options of accommodation and vehicle class. He was easy to contact over email and WhatsApp (where the majority of our communication took place) and happily amended the itinerary, dates and number of people multiple times until it suited us perfectly. He made enquiries of specific dietary/mobility requirements and passed this information on to the lodges. At various intervals before the trip, Charles sent reminders of requirements, eg, visa application, vaccinations.On arrival, we were greeted by the Meektrails team and introduced to our driver-guide Bernard Njinu. With 25 years experience, he demonstrated vast in-depth knowledge of animal and bird habits- and helped us spot and identify 112 species of birds and 34 species of mammals (including the big 5) and reptiles. We were in particular impressed with his bird knowledge - he was able to spot and identify various species from a distance, from imposing storks and endangered vultures to skulking pipits and longclaws and plovers. Seeing the whydahs and widow birds were a particular highlight. Even experienced twitchers won't be disappointed.Njinu (pronounced without the N) was forthcoming with knowledge about all aspects of the area- geological, historical and cultural. He was extremely professional, friendly, approachable and took great care of us- he brought along a two-step stool to aid my mum with weak knees climb in and out of the vehicle; and planned in frequent comfort breaks for my dad who has diabetes. Njinu was very patient through the game drives and was invested in making sure we got the most out of our time in Kenya.The trip itself was exactly as planned, with no corners cut, no hidden costs (note that tips are standard practice and not included in your quote- I recommended you account for this in advance). The vehicle was comfortable and very fit for purpose. All accommodation including hotels, tented camps and lodges was exactly as advertised/ expected at great locations in or very close to the national parks. Food was good, rooms comfortable, but the hospitality and service were what took our stay to the next level.Now back from holiday, my family agree that this was hands-down one of the best holidays/experiences of our lives. The country of Kenya with its incredible wildlife, landscapes, culture and people has touched our hearts - and Meektrails made it all accessible in the most painless and enjoyable way possible. If you are considering a trip to Kenya or east Africa, I highly recommend Meektrails Safaris for your adventure.
Our family of four, including two kids had an incredible 5-day safari in Kenya, thanks to the fantastic team at MEEKTRAILS SAFARIS. Right from the start, the communication with Valentine Ngatha was seamless. She was extremely helpful and responsive, ensuring all our queries were addressed and our itinerary was perfectly planned.The accommodations were top-notch, offering a great balance of comfort and a close-to-nature feel. The food was delicious, with plenty of options that suited both adults and kids in our Indian family.However, at one of our stays in Masai Mara, the generator was turned off between 1 am and 4 am, which was a minor inconvenience.Our guide, Mr. Onesmus, was the star of the trip. We started out our tour with a missing reservation for the first two nights. Also our reservation for the last two nights haven't been made, even though I have gotten confirmation from Meektrails several times that the reservations for the hotel was made. Due to the missing reservations we had to spent the first two nights at another hotel, we were lucky to get a room at yhe planned hotel for the last two nights. Due to the situation our guide started with a challenge and he handled the situation really well. Our guide was throughout the hole tour very nice and professional, and had a lot of knowledge about the different animals we saw.
We went for an amazing and memorable 8-day safari exploring Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara in Kenya. During the booking process, the Meektrails Safari agent (Peris Kinyua) has been constantly kind and professional, giving us amazing suggestions and tailoring all the aspects of the safari according to our needs. They proposed very cozy, clean and perfectly-located accommodations having all the amenities and very good food. Moreover, Peris has been always in contact with us during the safari to check that everything was smooth and fine. The new, clean and spacious vehicle has everything what you need (wifi, water, plugs, etc.)!Samuel (Sammy) has been our incredible and tireless driver for the safari….we simply loved him! No words can really describe his deep experience and passion for his work. In the game drives, he has provided many details on the animals and nature and answered all our questions. During our safari, we had the chance to meet other Meektrails Safari drivers (e.g. Joseph) who are are really kind and always smiling.We had an experience we will never forget, and surely we will contact Meektrails Safari for other trips.
We did a 6 day private Kenya safari with Meektrails with a dedicated guide and driver George. We covered Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara and Amboseli. Overall we were very happy with the tour. Our guide George was superb both in terms of attitude and his encyclopaedic knowledge of animals and birds. He knew exactly where to go in all the parks to sight animals including Rhinos in Nakuru and Cheetahs and Lions in Masai Mara. Thank you Meek trails
We scheduled our trip through Eluid who was very accommodating and easy to work with. Our driver was Ben who was outstanding and extremely knowledgeable about the animals and the history of the different parks we visited. Communication was very easy and he made us feel very comfortable and safe throughout our entire trip. I highly recommend Meektrails, Eluid and Ben to anyone when planning to rake a safari trip.
We did the 6 day safari with Meektrails to Amboselli, Nakuru and Massai Mara. Charles from Meektrails was so responsive in all the planning for the trip and guiding us on visas. The safari itself was wonderful with Philip as our guide and driver. He was so kind and knowledgeable and was a very safe driver considering the difficult road conditions. Tourists should be aware that the driving time can be longer than expected in the brochures as the rain can damage the roads or due to traffic. For our trip all the accommodations and meals were wonderful and the overall Safari experience is one we will treasure forever! Thank you to the Meektrails team!
